Overview

The post carries no text of the subject's own. The analyzable act is selection and publication: a map formatted to imitate a CIA World Factbook regional graphic (attribution line, July 2024 date, standard pastel state fills), in which the state of New Mexico has been relabeled "NEW AMERICA." Everything else — Utah, Colorado, Arizona, the Santa Fe capital star, Mexico in gray to the south — is left intact, which is what makes the single substitution legible as the entire content of the joke.

This is a one-word edit doing a large amount of symbolic work. The altered element is specifically the word Mexico inside an American state's name, removed and replaced with America. The graphic does not argue; it presents a fait accompli in the visual grammar of an official government reference document.

Level 1 — Dispositional traits

Wordless posts give thin trait evidence and no stylometric signal at all. What survives:

The protagonist role is the sovereign namer / restorer — the figure who corrects a map that was wrong before he arrived. The implied sequence is redemptive: something foreign is expunged and the territory is returned to its proper identity.

Note the borrowed authority. Choosing a CIA World Factbook template rather than a cartoon or a rally graphic is the meaningful selection choice. It stages a wish as a government publication — the fantasy rendered in the typography of an already-accomplished administrative fact. This is the same rhetorical move as announcing a renaming as though it were a finding.

Level 4 — Clinical indicators

Narcissistic features (moderate–marked): fantasies of unlimited power expressed as effortless territorial re-designation; entitlement to redraw national symbols by fiat.

Sadism (mild, ego-syntonic): the humiliation is diffuse rather than aimed at a named individual, but the pleasure structure of the artifact is a group being told its name does not belong. There is no target, no grievance recitation and no implied action, which keeps this well below the stochastic-terrorism pattern.

Rhetorical analysis

• Appeal to false authority — the Factbook branding lends institutional weight to a partisan wish.
• In-group / out-group construction via a single lexical substitution; efficient because it requires no argument and therefore admits no refutation.
• Trial balloon / normalization — floating a proposition as humor so that later serious versions arrive pre-familiarized. A recurring functional pattern with his renaming campaigns, several of which began as applause lines and ended as executive orders.
• Dog whistle (medium confidence): the joke only works if the audience already reads "Mexico" in the state's name as a foreign residue. That inference does the work, and it is never stated.

Elevated, at the low end. There is no target, no threat and no action verb. That signal is substantially offset by the surrounding feed: the three adjacent posts are verbatim Interior Department press blurbs attributed to a named official ("From Greg Wischer at the United States Department of the Interior…"), the unmistakable texture of a communications shop feeding the account. An unlabeled troll meme dropped into that sequence is a tonal break of the kind that historically marks the principal reaching for the account himself, and the renaming theme is a durable personal preoccupation rather than a staff initiative.

With no written text there is no stylometric evidence whatsoever, so this attribution concerns who selected and published the image, not who wrote anything. Confidence is capped at low.
