Post from Truth Social

The supreme court (will be using lower case letters for a while based on a complete lack of respect!) of the United States accidentally and unwittingly gave me, as President of the United States, far more powers and strength than I had prior to their ridiculous, dumb, and very internationally divisive ruling. For one thing, I can use Licenses to do absolutely "terrible" things to foreign countries, especially those countries that have been RIPPING US OFF for many decades, but incomprehensibly, according to the ruling, can't charge them a License fee - BUT ALL LICENSES CHARGE FEES, why can't the United States do so? You do a license to get a fee! The opinion doesn't explain that, but I know the answer! The court has also approved all other Tariffs, of which there are many, and they can all be used in a much more powerful and obnoxious way, with legal certainty, than the Tariffs as initially used. Our incompetent supreme court did a great job for the wrong people, and for that they should be ashamed of themselves (but not the Great Three!). The next thing you know they will rule in favor of China and others, who are making an absolute fortune on Birthright Citizenship, by saying the 14th Amendment was NOT written to take care of the "babies of slaves," which it was as proven by the EXACT TIMING of its construction, filing, and ratification, which perfectly coincided with the END OF THE CIVIL WAR. How much better can you do than that? But this supreme court will find a way to come to the wrong conclusion, one that again will make China, and various other Nations, happy and rich. Let our supreme court keep making decisions that are so bad and deleterious to the future of our Nation - I have a job to do. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP

This post is a clinically significant narcissistic injury response to the Supreme Court's 6-3 ruling striking down IEEPA tariffs. The primary defense is pathological distortion — reframing a major judicial defeat as having "accidentally" granted him more power. Secondary defenses include splitting (loyal "Great Three" vs. incompetent majority), devaluation (lowercase as symbolic punishment), and projection (accusing the court of serving China). The mixed narcissistic state oscillates between grandiosity ("far more powers and strength") and persecution ("court making decisions deleterious to our Nation"). The post escalates institutional delegitimization rhetoric, conditioning followers to view the judiciary as a corrupt, foreign-serving adversary rather than a co-equal branch. The preemptive attack on a forthcoming birthright citizenship ruling demonstrates anticipatory devaluation — ensuring future defeats are pre-framed as evidence of judicial corruption. The confused legal reasoning about licenses and fees reflects baseline legal illiteracy rather than cognitive change. Most concerning is the systematic undermining of judicial authority during an active constitutional crisis, framing compliance with court rulings as optional ("I have a job to do"). This represents an elevated-risk pattern of authoritarian norm erosion through incremental delegitimization.

Indicators:
  • Systematic delegitimization of Supreme Court as institution
  • Framing judiciary as serving foreign adversaries

  • Reframing a clear judicial defeat as having received 'far more powers' — inverting objective reality
  • Implying the court serves foreign adversaries rather than interpreting law
  • Conditioning followers to distrust judicial institutions
Reality Distortions:
  • Major legal defeat reframed as granting more power
  • Court accused of serving China's interests
  • Confused claim that licenses inherently require fees therefore tariffs are legal
Fact Checks (4)
"The Supreme Court gave me far more powers than I had prior to the ruling"
False

The 6-3 ruling struck down IEEPA tariffs, removing a major presidential power; it did not expand executive authority

"The court approved all other Tariffs"
Half True

The ruling specifically addressed IEEPA authority; tariffs under other statutes (Section 301, Section 232) were not directly affected, but the ruling did not 'approve' them either

"The 14th Amendment was written to take care of the babies of slaves, proven by the EXACT TIMING coinciding with the END OF THE CIVIL WAR"
Half True

The 14th Amendment (ratified 1868) was primarily designed to grant citizenship to freed slaves. However, its citizenship clause was deliberately written broadly ('All persons born...') and birthright citizenship has been upheld for over a century in Wong Kim Ark (1898)

"China and others are making an absolute fortune on Birthright Citizenship"
Mostly False

Birth tourism exists but is marginal; characterizing it as nations 'making a fortune' grossly overstates the phenomenon and mischaracterizes how birthright citizenship functions

“The 14th Amendment was written to take care of the babies of slaves, proven by the EXACT TIMING coinciding with the END OF THE CIVIL WAR”
vs.
“The 14th Amendment had everything to do with giving Citizenship to former slaves”
The source claims the 14th Amendment was written for the 'babies of slaves' (i.e., children born to formerly enslaved people — a birthright citizenship framing). Candidate 2 says it was written to give citizenship to 'former slaves' themselves. These are distinct and conflicting claims about the amendment's intended beneficiaries: one points to the children, the other to the freed people directly. Both posts are arguing against modern birthright citizenship, but the factual premise about who the amendment covered shifts between the two posts.
