A template endorsement, filled in for SC-05 on election eve

This is one of a run of near-identical endorsement posts published on 2 November 2026, the day before the midterms. It belongs with the Russell Fry (SC-07) post, the Whatley post, the North Carolina slate list, and a TeleRally announcement for South Carolina at 4:00pm ET. The Climer text uses the same scaffold as the Fry endorsement nearly word for word: "America First Patriot," a nine-item policy list ("Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations... Defend our always under siege Second Amendment"), and the closing formula "Complete and Total Endorsement." The only parts written for this candidate are the credential line ("A very successful Business Owner, Civic Leader, and Highly Respected State Senator") and the closing "HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!"

Who wrote it

The post went up at 20:25 UTC. Daylight saving time ended on 1 November, so that is 3:25pm Eastern, which is his local time whether he was at Mar-a-Lago (where the 1 November tele-rallies were run) or in Washington. That is the middle of a business afternoon, about 35 minutes before the South Carolina TeleRally the same feed announced, so the post reads as part of a scheduled push for that call. The text has none of the self-referential drift seen in the Whatley post earlier that day, where "which I love and WON BIG, six times" breaks into the endorsement. Here the grammar is clean, the list is parallel, the post is signed "President DONALD J. TRUMP," and it links to the campaign GOTV hub. The odd capitals ("Highly Respected," "Civic Leader") belong to the house style his staff copy uses, and they show up in the same places in the Fry post. Staff authorship is the strong reading. The likeliest personal touch is the all-caps closing line, though that line is also standard in the template.

What it shows about him

Since the text was written to a template, it shows the campaign's format more than his state of mind. A few stable features carry through. Endorsement is framed as a personal gift: it is "my Great Honor," and Climer "has my Complete and Total Endorsement," which makes the patron's approval the main credential. The candidate is described almost entirely through loyalty and the shared agenda ("America First Patriot," "will fight tirelessly"), and almost nothing about Climer as a person appears. The capitals land on dominance and security words ("SECURE," "DOMINANCE," "MADE IN THE U.S.A."), the usual high points of the agenda. Splitting shows up only in the stock phrase "our always under siege Second Amendment," which implies an unnamed attacker without naming one. The post has no named opponent, no grievance about the subject himself, and no attack on anyone, which is why it reads as routine supply maintenance and campaign work rather than a reaction to anything.

Rhetorically, it uses positive hyperbole ("fantastic people," "incredible Military/Veterans"), a laundry list of agenda items in place of argument, a mild fear appeal ("Stop Migrant Crime," "under siege"), and a direct turnout command. Nothing in it is violent, eliminationist, or dehumanizing. "Migrant Crime" is the one phrase in the template that links a group to criminality, and here it stays a slogan with no target. The writing shows no cognitive markers, and the polished staff text gives no evidence either way about his own language production.

Claims

The checkable facts hold up: Climer is a sitting South Carolina state senator, and he is the Republican candidate for the open 5th District seat, which Ralph Norman vacated to run for governor. "Highly Respected" and "will never let you down" are opinion. The business-owner credential was not independently checked. The linked page is a GOTV landing page and makes no claim of its own, so it was not fetched.

Fact Verification

The primary source is his House candidate financial disclosure (Filing ID 10078631, filed 05/15/2026, covering 01/01/2025 to 04/15/2026). It lists "Climer Wealth Management Group of LPL Financial (50% Interest)", located in Charlotte, NC, and described as a "Financial Advisory Business". It values the business at $1,000,001 to $5,000,000. Schedule C reports business earnings from the firm of $657,000 for the current year to filing and $588,000 for the preceding year. The same schedule shows $32,300 and $40,100 from the South Carolina Senate. Nearly all of his earned income comes from the firm, which shows it is a real, profitable business and not just a title.

Other sources back this up. LPL's press release of Sept. 11, 2023 says father and son Michael and Wes Climer left Wells Fargo Advisors to launch Climer Wealth Management Group. They reported serving about $280 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets, based on year-end 2022 figures. His LPL team page lists him as "Vice President, Financial Advisor" and says he co-founded the group in 2023 after working as a Financial Consultant at Wells Fargo. Michael Climer's bio says he co-founded the firm "with Wes Climer". The SC Legislative Manual and WSOC both call him a financial adviser. At his campaign launch (FITSNews, Aug. 1, 2025) he described himself: "I'm a small business owner. I'm a financial advisor."

Caveats:

• He owns half the firm. His father is the other co-founder.
• The practice belongs to Linsco by LPL Financial, which LPL calls its "employee advisor channel". LPL describes it as a middle ground between a wirehouse and full independence, with LPL handling HR, real estate and operations.
• The firm only dates from 2023. Before that he was an employee at Wells Fargo and, earlier, a congressional aide.
• "Very successful" is a matter of opinion. The $1M to $5M valuation and roughly $600K a year in business earnings back it up, but they are self-reported ranges, not audited results.
