Post from Truth Social

This post carries no caption of his own — the entire signal is the choice to publish a meme asserting that foreign tankers are arriving empty to "load up" on American oil. The behavior under analysis is that selection, made three days after aides watched gas prices climb and a week after he told reporters he doesn't think about Americans' financial situation "even a little bit," and one day after threatening Iran over the Strait of Hormuz. Read against that backdrop, the meme functions as a visual rebuttal: instead of addressing the affordability criticism directly, he circulates an image whose subtext is abundance and demand for US oil, implicitly recasting a liability (gas prices, war costs) as evidence of strength. That's consistent with rationalization — reframing rather than engaging the underlying complaint — rather than denial or projection, since nothing in the image contradicts a specific fact he stated.

The Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline in the frame align the image with a familiar self-flattering register: American strength, plenty, and vindication. The image names no target — just an assertion of commercial success staged against a patriotic backdrop, which rules out grievance or attack as the operative frame and places this closer to supply-seeking/self-promotion. That also means the narrower clinical categories tied to persecution, contempt, or cruelty toward an out-group don't have anything to attach to here; what's visible is garden-variety grandiose self-presentation.

Because there's no text, stylometric authorship markers (typos, syntax, capitalization habits) are unavailable, and the caption inside the image is the meme-maker's wording. The only usable evidence is timing and the ordinary business-hours pattern of curated, on-message economic content, which is compatible with either self-selection or staff curation. That leaves the attribution thin by design: this can speak only to who chose to publish the image.
