Post from Truth Social

I am proud to announce the nomination of Angela Colmenero to serve as Judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Angela has done an incredible job as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Greg Abbott and, previously, as his Principal Deputy General Counsel. Before joining the Governor’s Office, Angela worked as an attorney, and Senior Official in the Office of the Texas Attorney General. A proud graduate of Notre Dame Law School and the University of Texas, Angela clerked for Judge A. Joe Fish, and is well prepared to serve the wonderful people of Texas. She will do a tremendous job, and always protect our Great Constitution. Congratulations Angela!

"Angela Colmenero served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Greg Abbott and previously as Principal Deputy General Counsel."
True

Multiple authoritative sources confirm both roles. The official Texas Governor's press release dated June 16, 2023 (gov.texas.gov) explicitly states: 'Governor Greg Abbott today named Angela Colmenero as his Deputy Chief of Staff,' replacing Jordan Hale. The same release confirms that 'Colmenero has served as Principal Deputy General Counsel to the Governor since November 2021' and 'Deputy General Counsel to the Governor' beginning September 2018. Senator John Cornyn's press release announcing her judicial nomination also confirms both titles. Her LinkedIn profile and Ballotpedia entry corroborate this employment history. The sequence (Principal Deputy General Counsel → Deputy Chief of Staff) matches the post exactly.

"Angela Colmenero graduated from Notre Dame Law School and the University of Texas, and clerked for Judge A. Joe Fish."
True

All three credentials are verified by multiple independent sources. Notre Dame Law School maintains an alumni page titled 'Angela Colmenero, '04 J.D.' confirming her 2004 Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School. The Texas Governor's press release and Senator Cornyn's statement both confirm she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her law degree from Notre Dame. Her clerkship with Judge A. Joe Fish is confirmed via LinkedIn and other biographical sources: she served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge A. Joe Fish at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas from August 2004 to August 2005. Judge A. Joe Fish is a verifiable Senior District Judge of the Northern District of Texas, per the federal court's official website (txnd.uscourts.gov). Her Texas Bar admission date (May 5, 2005) is consistent with this timeline.
