Analysis: Link Share — "Reports of Mr. Trump's Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated"

Overview

A URL-only post sharing a PJ Media opinion piece by Rick Moran (dated Jan 7, 2023) arguing Trump remains politically viable despite narratives of his decline. The post contains no original commentary — the article title serves as the entire message.

Context

This falls within a period of heavy posting on Jan 11, 2023. Other posts that day attack Biden (classified documents), McConnell, and general governance. This particular share functions as narcissistic supply — using third-party validation to counter perceived narratives of political irrelevance.

Authorship

Posted at 12:17 PM ET (Trump likely at Mar-a-Lago in January). Business hours, link-only, no original text — classic aide/Scavino pattern of curating favorable media coverage. The professional formatting and lack of any personal commentary strongly suggest staff posting.

Psychological Function

The article title itself is the message: a defiant rebuttal to political obituaries. This is a supply-seeking post — sharing external validation rather than generating original content. The Mark Twain allusion frames Trump as an enduring figure whose opponents perpetually underestimate him, activating the comeback/redemption narrative.

Rhetorical Note

Letting a third-party article speak for you is a common technique — it provides deniability while still broadcasting the grandiose message ("I'm not done"). The choice of a conservative outlet ensures sympathetic framing.
