Analysis: Post-SNL Praise Retweet (2015-11-08)

This post is one in a series of retweets amplifying praise for Trump's SNL hosting appearance (November 7, 2015). The pattern is classic narcissistic supply collection — curating and broadcasting compliments to his large audience.

Authorship

Posted at 5:46 PM ET (Trump likely in NYC after SNL taping the previous night). The brief "Thanks." is consistent with authentic Trump — terse, personally engaged with praise. However, the business-hours timing and simple retweet-with-comment format could also be aide-assisted. The minimal personal addition tips toward authentic given the personal engagement pattern.

Psychological State

Post-performance high. Trump is basking in the afterglow of a major media appearance, systematically retweeting praise. This is textbook narcissistic supply-seeking behavior — not pathological in isolation, but the volume and selectivity of praise amplification is notable.

Rhetorical Analysis

Minimal rhetoric. The "Thanks." functions as false modesty — acknowledging praise while amplifying it to millions. The selection of a tweet calling him "mr trump" and "funny funny" reinforces the desired self-image of likability and entertainment value during a campaign where critics painted him as dangerous.
