The speaker walks through three figures: 99% of self-identified MAGA Republicans voted for Trump against Kamala Harris, 98% approve of him now, and 98% say they will vote for House Republicans. The conclusion drawn on air is that "there's been no real decline in MAGA support" and that the support "is actually really holding up strong." Trump attached no words of his own.

What makes the choice readable is the subgroup. Approval among voters who call themselves MAGA Republicans is close to true by definition: the label selects for people who back him. A 98% figure inside that group says almost nothing about the electorate, and the historian notes place this week amid "record-low approval polling." Faced with toplines he disputes, he posts the one cut of the data where the number looks nearly unanimous. The broadcaster's own hedge ("I might have thought it'd be 100%") shows how little room that metric had to move.

The move amounts to swapping in a different question: "has my base left me?" in place of "am I popular?" The trigger is most likely the week's polling coverage, which he had called "Fake Polls" hours earlier. The state on display is grandiose-maintenance rather than wounded: no one is attacked in this post, and the affect is reassurance directed at followers. Put a different way, it is supply-seeking through proxy, with a third party certifying loyalty so he doesn't have to claim it himself. If the clip comes from a network he regularly calls fake news, which the analyst's style suggests but the transcript doesn't confirm, the borrowed credibility would be part of the appeal: a hostile outlet conceding strength counts for more with his audience than an ally saying it.
