A unanimous loss, retold as something taken from Missouri

Two days before this post the U.S. Supreme Court, for the third time, declined to let Missouri's 2025 mid-decade congressional map be used in November, leaving the state's own supreme court ruling in place and the 2022 map in force. The post renders that as: "The Supreme Court of the United States will just not let Missouri have an Election Victory."

The grammar of the sentence is worth reading closely. The Court does not rule; it "will not let." The victory is not sought, it is possessed and withheld. And it belongs to "Missouri," not to him. An adverse legal outcome is converted into an act of denial committed against a third party he is defending, which removes him from the losing side of the ledger entirely. He is not the litigant who lost 9-0; he is the advocate consoling the wronged.

The second sentence completes the inversion: "They continuously, three times now, overrule Judges who came to the correct decisions." Correctness is defined by outcome, not by reasoning, and the reasoning is never engaged. No holding is described, no legal theory is contested, no justice is named, and the unanimity of the decision, which included the three justices he appointed, is absent. What remains is a bare count of adverse events.

The thank-you turns into a scoreboard

"Thank you to the Governor, and all of the Great People of Missouri" is the vague attribution characteristic of his unscripted register: the governor is a role, not Mike Kehoe. The gratitude then drifts. Within two sentences the subject of the post has changed from a court ruling to his own electoral history: "I won Missouri BIG, all three times, and I couldn't be more proud of doing so."

The phrase is borrowed intact from his fraud-era vocabulary and applied to a redistricting fight where it has no referent: no ballots, no counting, no security question was before either court. This is the pathological end of the defense hierarchy, reality reshaped to fit need, rather than the rationalization operating one sentence earlier in "the correct decisions." Both are present, at different levels.

The lighter work is done by "Such tremendous Spirit and Love of our Country," which converts a procedural setback into evidence of the in-group's virtue. Loss becomes proof of character.

What is missing is the tell

His baseline response to judicial defeat includes named judges, questions about their legitimacy, and often their appointing president. Here the Court is "They." No justice is identified, no motive is imputed to them, and there is no call for any response beyond continued "fighting." That restraint is the most informative feature of the post: attacking this particular Court by name would require explaining why his own appointees ruled against him, so the institution is kept abstract and the subject is changed to Missouri's affection for him. Avoidance, not fury.

Nothing here identifies a target, articulates a grievance against a person, or implies an action. The absence of an eliminationist frame around a judicial loss of this size is a departure from his own pattern, not a neutral baseline.

"They continuously... overrule" is a tense and adverb misfit ("continuously" where "continually" is meant) of the organic rather than decorative kind. The topic drifts from a court ruling to his own vote margins mid-post and never returns. The governor goes unnamed where an aide would supply the name. The post closes on a declaration of love to a state, which is not a form any communications staffer produces for a statement about a Supreme Court order. The full sign-off, "President DONALD J. TRUMP", appears where the two economic posts earlier the same day carry the clipped "President DJT."

Read as a day: three posts, all superlative-heavy, all signed, one absorbing a 9-0 defeat without naming anyone. Elevated tempo and expansive affect, well short of anything disorganized.
