No words. A single designed graphic: a bomber crossing a cloudy sky, an old-English masthead reading "Only Trump" inside a ring of stars, and beneath it a tarmac photograph — Xi Jinping in a dark suit and red tie, Trump beside him in a long overcoat returning a military salute, a line of honor guard, an Air China jet, a woman with her hand over her heart.

The photograph is somebody's press image; the bomber and the masthead are additions. The description cannot settle whether the tarmac scene is the November 2017 Beijing arrival ceremony or an arrival tied to Xi's September 24 Washington state visit, and the reading does not turn on which: in either case the frame shows him receiving military honors on equal or superior footing with the leader of China, and the two words laid over it say the honors belong to him alone.

The claim inside the two words

"Only Trump" is the whole argument. It is an exclusivity claim about a person — not about a policy, a summit outcome, or a rival — of the kind that normally appears in supporter-made artwork rather than in a head of state's own feed. What he did was take that artwork and publish it under his own name, which converts fan attribution into self-attribution without his having to assert anything he could be quoted on. The device is efficient: the grandiosity is maximal and the authorship is deniable.

The salute is the image's center of gravity. Of everything available from a summit week — handshakes, signings, podiums — the selected still is the one where he is being rendered martial honors with a Chinese aircraft behind him and a bomber inserted overhead.
