Folding AI-risk warnings into the hoax catalogue

The post argues by association. Whoever warns about AI is cast as "the same people that said, 'We'll all be dead in twelve years because of Global Warming,'" so that AI-safety concern inherits a claim he treats as already discredited. It never engages what AI critics actually argue. It collapses them into a prior out-group and then ranks the concern on his personal hoax scale: "This is more of a Hoax than even that of RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, and Climate Change!" That line lists his own impeachment and investigation grievances next to a scientific consensus, all as one category. Anything that constrains or accuses him goes into the same bin. This is splitting at the level of epistemics: truth belongs to the in-group, and every warning from outside it is fabrication, which sets epistemic closure.

The second half turns from grievance to agency. "Whoever wins AI, WINS!" frames technology as a zero-sum contest with China, and "I'm going to keep it that way!" puts him personally in charge of the lead. Grandiosity runs through the scale claims ("bigger than the Industrial Revolution, or the Internet, itself") and through his move to name the category: "SI (SUPER INTELLIGENCE)!" follows an earlier post the same day asking followers to choose between "SUPER INTELLIGENCE VS. SUPERIOR INTELLIGENCE." Naming a phenomenon is a way of owning it. The protagonist here is the builder-winner defending growth against doomsayers, a redemption frame in which he holds off a false catastrophe.

There is one gesture toward caution, "We will be careful, and that's why we have the Department of Justice, and other Law Enforcement bodies, that will rein things in if we have to", and it gives oversight to enforcement agencies under his command rather than to regulation. Then the closing clause drops it: "but I will only encourage AI." That reads as rationalization. The caveat exists so the deregulatory position can be held while he says he is being careful.

Distortion and defenses

The climate passage reshapes the record in a few moves. It says the term was "reborn" to Climate Change "because the Planet was cooling, not warming," and treats "nobody was dead" as a refutation of a prediction nobody made in those words. The first claim reverses the measured temperature trend. The second knocks down a paraphrase he built himself. This is distortion aimed at a fixed belief that is part of his identity, and it is not new: the climate-hoax framing goes back to his 2012 tweets. The DARVO shape is mild. The warners become the deceivers, and he stands as the one who sees clearly. The affect is contempt and mockery more than wounded rage. The trigger looks like ongoing public debate over AI risk, and it does not read as a specific personal injury.

Language and authorship

The syntax is his run-on, clause-stacking kind: one long first sentence of about 70 words carries a nested aside, a false causal claim and the pivot to AI. "A name since 'reborn' to Climate Change" is a slightly off word choice. "Rebranded" or "renamed" is the obvious target, so this reads as a mild semantic slip or loose phrasing. The count shifts between "RUSSIA" three times and "UKRAINE" four, which fits his habit of chanting repetition more than pathological perseveration, and he used the same form in his first term. "AI or, SI" has a misplaced comma. None of this departs clearly from his known baseline, which has long been loose, repetitive and associative.

The post went up at about 11:48 a.m. Eastern on a Monday, probably from Washington. That hour leans toward staff. The text leans the other way: first-person ownership ("I'm going to keep it that way," "I will only encourage"), the hoax-litany tangent, the caps chanting, the mis-chosen word, the stray comma, and the tie to his own naming poll earlier the same day. Those features point to his own composition, possibly dictated. There is no policy precision, bill number or statistic.

Rhetorical devices and risk

The devices are guilt by association, straw man (the "dead in twelve years" paraphrase), hyperbole, a false dichotomy between growth and stifling, the zero-sum nationalism of "Whoever wins AI, WINS!", and repetition as incantation. The targets are an abstract class ("the same people") rather than named individuals, and the post contains no call to action or dehumanizing language. It does not articulate a target for followers to act against. What it does is delegitimize a category of expert warning, which is an epistemic effect, not a mobilizing one.

Within the same day's run, this post sits between an attack on "FAKE NEWS" as a "Cancer" and a sober-toned post on Russian refinery losses. The hoax litany's use of "UKRAINE" alongside a same-day post treating the Ukraine war as a real catastrophe shows the word working as a grievance token (the 2019 impeachment) instead of a reference to events.
