The compression is the notable move. A dispute with real contested content — data center siting, electricity prices, displacement, safety regulation — has been given a single label that answers it in advance. Once a category of criticism is named a Hoax, engaging any particular instance of it becomes unnecessary; the label does the work of an argument without making one.

Praise that ranks rather than thanks

"A great job by very smart Matthew Continetti" confers a grade, not gratitude. The adjective is placed before the name as a credential the writer is issuing — the recipient is smart because he said the useful thing, and the compliment travels with the utility. This is the standard form; the same construction has attached to and then detached from a long list of people over the years.
