Tano Tijerina has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next U.S. Representative from Texas’ 28th Congressional District — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Video transcript 2:27

Hello Texas, this November I'm asking you to go out and vote for Tano Tiarena to be the next representative of Texas' 28th congressional district. Tano is a true American patriot, a highly respected judge, and a very successful businessman and rancher who has dedicated his life to serving his country. As a judge, Tano lowered property taxes, fought to make health care more affordable, and improve the quality of life for our great seniors. In Congress, he will always vote to grow our economy, support our farmers, cut your taxes, and keep our border strong, safe, and secure. Tano will vote to strengthen our military, protect your Second Amendment, and he will defend law and order. He is so law and order conscious, he's going to be great. Most importantly, he will bring jobs, jobs, jobs to your community. But first and very importantly, Tano must defeat his opponent, Henry Cuellar. Not respected at all, was indicted by the Democrats, and I gave him a pardon because I thought he was treated unfairly, but he's not good, a real total disaster from every standpoint. And unfortunately, a puppet for the radical left communist. Week on the border, week on just about everything else, Cuellar voted against, no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and against no tax on social security for our great seniors. He voted in favor of child sexual mutilization, and men playing in women's sports. He thinks it's fine. And the reason I gave him the pardon was because as bad as he is, he was treated really unfairly, and so was his wife. And I felt, frankly, very sorry for their daughters who wrote me a letter. And I said, I have to do the right thing, but he shouldn't be a congressman. Getting back to Tano, he represents Texas values. He will never let you down. He will fight the communists, the Democrats, the same thing, frankly, who want to ruin your life and ruin everything around you and ruin our country. He's great. On November 3rd, go out and vote for Tano, to the arena for Congress. He will never let you down. He is my complete and total support, commitment, and endorsement. Thank you very much.

Fact Checks (7)
"Trump gave Henry Cuellar a pardon."
True

Trump pardoned Rep. Henry Cuellar and his wife Imelda in early December 2025, citing a letter from their daughters. Cuellar then filed for re-election as a Democrat, and Trump criticized him for it.

"Cuellar was indicted by the Democrats."
Mostly True

Cuellar and his wife were indicted in May 2024 by the Justice Department under the Biden administration on bribery and foreign-influence charges involving Azerbaijan and a Mexican bank. 'The Democrats' refers to a Democratic administration's DOJ, not the party.

"Cuellar voted against no tax on tips and no tax on overtime."
Half True

Cuellar voted against the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in 2025, which included deductions for tips and overtime, in a party-line vote on the whole package. He did not cast a standalone vote against those provisions.

"Cuellar voted against no tax on Social Security for seniors."
Mostly False

The 2025 reconciliation law did not eliminate federal tax on Social Security benefits. It added a temporary $6,000 deduction for people 65 and older. Cuellar voted against the package, but no 'no tax on Social Security' provision existed.

"Cuellar voted in favor of men playing in women's sports."
Mostly False

In January 2025, Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez were the only two House Democrats to vote for the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act (H.R. 28). He had voted with his party against the 2023 version, so the claim leaves out his more recent vote, which went the other way.

"Cuellar voted in favor of child sexual mutilization."
False

The line comes from the video attached to the post. Trump says of Cuellar: "He voted in favor of child sexual mutilization, and men playing in women's sports. He thinks it's fine." (transcript from the trump.fm archive). "Child sexual mutilation" is the administration's term for puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgery for minors. The White House uses it in its own releases, and Trump's January 2025 executive order is titled "Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation." The video names no vote, so I checked it against every House roll call on the subject. On each one, Cuellar voted the opposite way from what the claim says:

  • Dec 17, 2025, H.R. 3492, the Protect Children's Innocence Act. Marjorie Taylor Greene's bill makes it a federal crime to perform gender transition procedures on minors. It passed 216-211. Cuellar voted yea, one of only three Democrats to do so, with Vicente Gonzalez and Don Davis (House Clerk roll call 351).
  • Dec 18, 2025, H.R. 498, the Do No Harm in Medicaid Act, which bars Medicaid funding for those procedures for minors. It passed 215-201. Cuellar voted yea, one of four Democrats (roll call 362).
  • July 13, 2023, the Rosendale amendment to the FY2024 NDAA, which barred TRICARE and the Pentagon from covering or providing transition surgery and hormones. It was adopted 222-211. Cuellar was the only House Democrat to vote aye (roll call 301).
  • Dec 11, 2024, the final FY2025 NDAA, which ended TRICARE coverage of gender dysphoria treatment for minors. It passed 281-140, and Cuellar was among the 81 Democrats voting yes (per Erin in the Morning's roll list and Roll Call's party breakdown).
  • July 21, 2026, Nancy Mace's amendment to the FY2027 NDAA barring TRICARE coverage of gender-related medical treatment. It was adopted 219-208, and Cuellar was one of five Democrats voting aye (roll call 267).

LGBTQ outlets (The Advocate, Erin in the Morning, Truthout) have singled Cuellar out as a repeat Democratic defector on exactly these votes.

Only three votes could be stretched toward the claim, and none holds up:

  • He voted with every other Democrat for the motions to recommit on H.R. 3492 and H.R. 498 (roll calls 350 and 361). These are procedural votes to send a bill back to committee, and he then voted for both bills on passage.
  • He voted against the House version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act on May 22, 2025 (roll call 145, all 212 Democrats no). That version carried a Medicaid and CHIP funding ban on transition procedures. The Senate parliamentarian struck the ban, so it never became law, and voting no on a tax-and-spending package is not a vote in favor of the procedures.
  • He voted for the 2021 Equality Act (roll call 39), a general anti-discrimination bill that says nothing about medical care for minors.

The line reads as boilerplate. The Eric Flores endorsement video, posted seconds later in the same batch, uses the identical sentence about Vicente Gonzalez, whose record on these bills matches Cuellar's.

Every direct floor vote on the subject shows Cuellar voting to restrict or criminalize the care Trump describes, often as the lone Democrat or one of a handful. The claim inverts his record.

"The election is on November 3rd."
True

The 2026 U.S. general election is on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
