A form endorsement carrying a grudge match

The written text uses the same template as the Dan Sullivan and Ashley Moody endorsements posted the same day: "has my Complete and Total Endorsement… HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! President DONALD J. TRUMP." Only the name, state and office change. It went up at 2:14 PM Eastern (he was back in the U.S. after the Ireland trip, and Washington and Bedminster are both on Eastern time). The timing, the fixed wording and the signature line all point to a staffer working through a list of endorsements.

The attached video is a different matter. Trump is the speaker, in the first person throughout ("I beat him before," "I won you big"), so the transcript can be read as his speech. It looks like a scripted endorsement with ad-libs, and the ad-libs are where the material is. The scripted parts are tidy: "strong borders, lower taxes, a booming economy, and the greatest military." The improvised parts turn almost at once from Collins to Jon Ossoff and to Trump himself.

The Ossoff race he counts and the one he leaves out

The longest ad-lib is a story of personal victory: "Ossoff was leading by a lot, I got involved in the race, and Ossoff went down to a serious defeat, a very shocking defeat. So I've beaten him once, and now I'm gonna beat him again." The story has a clear redemption shape: an unknown candidate, a Trump intervention, a rescue. The facts are wrong in several places. The 2017 GA-6 special election was nine years ago, not "six years ago or so." Karen Handel was a former Georgia Secretary of State, not "a Congressperson that nobody ever heard of." She won by about 3.6 points, which is hard to call "a serious defeat."

What the story leaves out matters more. In January 2021 Ossoff unseated David Perdue, after Trump campaigned in Georgia while contesting the state's presidential result. So the scoreboard is one loss and one win against Ossoff, and he presents it as one win. That is selective memory in the service of a grandiose self-image. The account shrinks an injury, a Senate seat lost in a state he says he owns, into silence, and a narrow House result grows into a rout. "I love Georgia, and Georgia loves me" sits in the same place. The line claims a relationship that 2020 and 2021 complicate.

One ad-lib points the other way. "I don't know, he's got a good PR machine, because people say that he's doing well in terms of the vote. I don't think he's done, hasn't done anything." He admits Ossoff is polling well and explains it away in the same breath, which is rationalization. It is the closest the clip comes to a vulnerable state: a threat is acknowledged, then put down to publicity rather than voters.

Pee Wee Herman and the "real man"

The attacks on Ossoff are contempt and mockery more than rage. "Lightweight," "he's like Pee Wee Herman… he's a lookalike," "a laughing socket" (almost certainly "laughing stock," perhaps garbled in transcription), "Nobody respects Ossoff in Congress. Nobody respects him in the Senate." The frame is about masculinity. Ossoff is compared to a childlike comic figure, and voters are told to "elect a real man, Mike Collins." The idealization of Collins is pitched to match: "he's central casting. You just look at him. He is meant to be a senator." "Central casting" is one of Trump's lifelong terms for someone who looks the part. It shows that he judges fitness for office by appearance. The split is complete: Collins is "respected by everybody," Ossoff is respected by nobody.

"That's all it means"

The line that carries the most weight: "He is absolutely against voter ID and proof of citizenship, which means he wants to cheat. That's all it means." A policy position is turned into a claim about criminal intent, and the second sentence forbids any other reading. This is epistemic closure. The voter is left one way to understand opposition to the SAVE Act. Six weeks before an election Trump's side may lose, it also pre-writes a fraud story. He framed Georgia's 2020 result the same way, and there that framing ended in the "find 11,780 votes" call. The clip has no call to action beyond voting and names no physical target. What it plants is groundwork for disputing a result.

Other lines mischaracterize Ossoff's record. "Voted for men in women's sports" describes a vote against cloture on a ban. "Transgender mutilization of your children" repeats a long-running coinage of his. "Wide open borders so every country can send their criminal into America" is an appeal to fear. The claim about voting against "no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security" rests on Ossoff's vote against the whole 2025 reconciliation package. It treats a no on an omnibus bill as opposition to each piece in it, and the package created deductions, not full exemptions.

Where the speech slips

The improvised sections break down in small ways. "One of the most, Mike Collins" stops without finishing the superlative. "He is my complete and total endorsement, he always has" merges two sentences and leaves an auxiliary with nothing to attach to. "You don't want to be too much like, but he's a lookalike" drops its object. "He will bring Georgia more gifts than anybody I can think of" and "they do as he says" are odd word choices for a senator's standing. "Mutilization" is established vocabulary for him, so it is not new evidence. The calendar error on the 2017 race ("six years ago or so" for nine) fits a pattern of compressed time spans documented elsewhere in the archive. Against his 1980s–90s interview baseline, where sentences usually finished even when they sprawled, the abandoned clauses here are more frequent. Still, one clip with a teleprompter base and possible transcription errors only supports a slight deviation.

The "$20 trillion flowing in with no country has ever had that" line is also his. Investment pledges become money "flowing in," and the figure is about double the administration's own tallies. The border boast, "the strongest border, the best border we've ever had," is closer to the record: encounters at the southwest border fell to historic lows in 2025.

Why post it

Putting out a batch of templated endorsements (Sullivan, Moody, Collins) on a day that also has a 95% approval boast and a CNN attack is maintenance of the kingmaker role: he confers standing, and candidates carry his name. In the Georgia video the endorsed candidate is almost incidental. The emotional weight falls on beating Ossoff "again" and on Georgia's love for Trump. The Senate race is a rematch in which he casts himself as the real opponent.
