He added nothing. The behavior available for analysis is the act of taking a television graphic that credits a record to the period he governs and pushing it to his own feed unannotated.

Wordless publication is not a weaker claim than a written one, it is a differently structured one. The chyron asserts; he distributes. "U.S. HOUSEHOLD INCOME AT RECORD HIGH" carries no subject and no agent, and the implied agent is supplied by whose account it appears on. This is borrowed authority stacked twice — a cable network's framing resting on "U.S. CENSUS BUREAU" credit — so the favorable proposition arrives already attributed to a government statistical agency rather than to him. Nothing is said that could later be quoted against him.

Two features of the graphic are worth reading for what the selection does. First, the axis label is "MEDIAN HOUSEHOLD INCOME, U.S. DOLLARS" with no constant-dollar qualifier in the description, which suggests a nominal series; a nominal median sets a "record high" in most years, including years when purchasing power falls. Second, the described "notable dip and recovery in the most recent years" is the part of the curve that does the political work: a trough followed by an upswing is a redemption arc rendered as a line, and the recovery half sits under his tenure. He did not have to narrate either point. Selecting the frame where the line is at its rightmost and highest is the whole argument.

What is driving it

No injury is being answered here. The absence that changes the reading is the missing grievance object: nobody is placed on the wrong side of this graphic, which rules out the wounded register that dominates much of his output and places the post in the routine validation lane — third-party corroboration of competence, circulated for admiration. The annual Census income release lands in September, so the trigger is most likely a favorable data drop reaching cable television, not a provocation.

The state is grandiose but low-amplitude, and the grandiosity is entirely delegated. Compare the same day's written posts, where he casts himself explicitly — "I was proud to be the President that got our last Farm Bill done," followed by naming "Barack Hussein Obama" as the man who couldn't. That post needs a foil. This one needs only a rising line. No pathological or immature defense is visible in the artifact; the closest thing to a defensive operation is the selective framing of a favorable series, which is ordinary political curation rather than a distortion of reality.

Real-time television reaction is one of his most durable personal habits, which pulls toward him; the two-hour lag and the clean single-image format pull toward a staffer clipping a favorable segment for later circulation. Neither signal is strong, and confidence stays low.

That same missing target is what keeps the post far from any danger threshold: an audience handed an income chart and no one to blame for it has nothing to act on.
