This matters analytically in two independent ways, treated separately below.

1. The act: cartographic renaming as dominance display

Renaming territory is among the oldest sovereignty rituals. A map is not an argument; it is a claim presented as settled fact. Publishing one without commentary is rhetorically efficient in a way prose is not — there is no proposition to rebut, only a picture of a world already rearranged.
