A five-year-old Christmas tweet, republished without comment

The post carries no words of his own. What he published is a screenshot of someone else's post: James Talarico, a Texas Democratic legislator, holding a boxed Anthony Fauci figurine on Christmas Day 2021 — "I got the coolest action figure for Christmas!", "Thank you to all the health care superheroes working today. Let's help by getting vaxxed and boosted! 🎄💉", timestamped "2:33 PM · Dec 25, 2021". The packaging details the description reads off the box do the work a caption would otherwise do: "REMOVABLE MASK!", "AGES 14+".

The behavior under analysis is the selection. Nothing is asserted, so nothing can be rebutted; the artifact is offered to an audience already primed to find Fauci veneration ridiculous, and the laugh is left to them. This is derogation with the fingerprints wiped — the same dominance display as a written attack, minus any sentence anyone can quote back at him. Publishing an opponent's own enthusiasm as self-evident embarrassment is devaluation performed by exhibition rather than by adjective.

What the retrieval itself shows

The tweet is from December 2021. Someone went and got it. Whether he dug it up or a supporter handed it to him, the reflex being fed is an archival one: enemy symbols are kept in inventory and produced when a use appears. It reads as routine hostile maintenance of the feed during a week in which impeachment articles were filed against him, a judge voided his visa ban, and a report described him personally ending a DOJ antitrust trial. The post engages none of that, and the absence of any defensive or grievance content is the notable thing: he is spending attention outward on a soft target rather than answering anything.
