Fox News attributes the characterization solely to Leavitt. Just The News explicitly attributes its "unscripted moment" phrasing to the White House press office via the X post. No independent reporting establishes the unplanned nature. The one partial exception is RedState writer Teri Christoph, who from her own viewing of the event described Trump "stopp[ing] his remarks after noticing a woman in the crowd was visibly upset" — an independent read consistent with the specific gesture, as distinct from the recognition, being unrehearsed.
