A month-old compliment, reposted without comment

The post is a screenshot of a June 5, 2026 post by Stephen Moore, the economist and longtime Trump economic adviser: "Thanks to Trumponomics the U.S. economy is hotter than the New York Knicks!" Under the text is a photograph of Trump sitting courtside at a Knicks game, with photographers around him. Trump added nothing. What can be analyzed is the choice to republish a friendly third party's praise a month after it first ran.

What the image does for him. The caption does two things at once. It gives the economy's performance a branded name, "Trumponomics," which ties any good result to him personally. It also borrows a sports team's momentum to make that result feel exciting. The photograph puts Trump in a crowd of cameras at a major sporting event. Moore is an ally, so this is supply by proxy: the praise shows up as an outside judgment rather than self-praise. That is a familiar move in his feed, and it looks like routine upkeep of his image. Nothing suggests he was reacting to an injury. The caption's economic claim is Moore's, and it is not attributed to Trump here. As a comparison, "hotter than the Knicks" is a sports quip with no measurable content. The only substantive thing it says is that the economy is strong, and that is a matter of interpretation, not a statistic.

Where it sits in the morning's feed. The same day's earlier posts include a link to a Just the News story saying a Fed working paper tied the "Biden illegal immigrant wave" to a 30% rise in home prices, and "Harry Kane of England is a GREAT player!!!" The posts pair two stories. Economic harm is blamed on a predecessor ("Biden illegal immigrant wave"). Economic strength is credited to him ("Trumponomics"). This is splitting spread across two posts, with bad outcomes going to the other side and good ones to his own. Two days after the July 4 semiquincentennial rally, the morning's run reads as a mood of celebration and self-congratulation, not grievance. There is no enemy in this image and no call to act, so it adds nothing to a risk reading beyond its place in that run.

Who picked it. No wording from Trump is available, so authorship depends only on timing and pattern. 14:50 UTC is 10:50 a.m. Eastern, inside business hours. Resharing an allied commentator's screenshot, often weeks late, is common for both Trump and staff-run accounts. Nothing here tips the attribution either way.
