Post from Truth Social

I love the Wonderful State of South Carolina for every reason in the book, including the fact that it is “loaded up” with truly GREAT people and Political Leaders. There are two Highly Respected Candidates running to be your next Governor in the June 23rd Republican Runoff Election, your current Lieutenant Governor, Pam Evette, and your current Attorney General, Alan Wilson. Both have had amazing careers, and have been with me from the beginning. They are MAGA and America First all the way! These were the two that I was hoping would get into a Runoff, and they did. I can’t hurt one of them by only Endorsing the other, so, therefore, I am going to Endorse, for Governor of South Carolina, both Pam Evette and Alan Wilson! It’s a Wealth of Riches – With either one you can’t go wrong. Vote for Pam or Alan — They will not let you down! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Routine pre-runoff endorsement post for South Carolina's June 23 GOP gubernatorial primary, employing Trump's signature dual-endorsement hedge for the two final candidates (Lt. Gov. Pam Evette and AG Alan Wilson). Stylistic markers (idiosyncratic capitalization, scare-quoted colloquialism "loaded up," superlative density, third-person sign-off) suggest Trump's voice, but the structural coherence and absence of drift/errors point to aide polish — a hybrid product typical of official endorsement releases. Posted mid-afternoon ET, consistent with staffed dissemination rather than impulsive composition. Psychologically, the post is dominated by agency motives (status, power, kingmaker identity) with no narcissistic injury, rage, or vulnerable-state markers. The dual endorsement functions as risk management: it preserves Trump's perception of infallibility by guaranteeing he backs the eventual winner. Mild rationalization defense surfaces in "I can't hurt one of them by only Endorsing the other," which reframes the hedge as magnanimity. Loyalty schema is foregrounded ("with me from the beginning," "MAGA and America First all the way"), treating endorsement as transactional currency exchanged for fealty. No danger indicators, no dehumanization, no reality distortions. Cognitively unremarkable on its face, but the likely aide editing limits inference about baseline cognitive function from this specific post. Not clinically significant; represents normal political maintenance behavior and the standard kingmaker positioning Trump has used throughout the 2024-2026 cycle.

Fact Checks (4)
"Pam Evette is the current Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina"
True

Pam Evette has served as Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina since 2019 under Gov. Henry McMaster and was reelected in 2022.

"Alan Wilson is the current Attorney General of South Carolina"
True

Alan Wilson has served as South Carolina's Attorney General since 2011.

"The South Carolina Republican gubernatorial runoff is on June 23"
True

Multiple independent, authoritative sources confirm the South Carolina Republican gubernatorial primary runoff between Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and Attorney General Alan Wilson is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026. BallotReady explicitly lists the event as 'South Carolina Primary Runoff Election - Tuesday, June 23, 2026.' Ballotpedia has a dedicated page titled 'South Carolina gubernatorial election, 2026 (June 23 Republican primary runoff).' The South Carolina Election Commission's official scvotes.gov site references the 2026 statewide primaries and runoffs. News coverage from NBC News, NPR, CBS News, the 19th, WLTX, and WSPA all confirm that no candidate cleared 50% in the June 9 primary (Evette finished first with ~29%, Wilson second with ~26%, ahead of Norman at 17%, Reddy at 14%, and Mace at 12%), triggering the runoff under South Carolina's two-week-later rule. The runoff date of June 23 is therefore independently confirmed by both election administration sources and news media.

"Both Evette and Wilson 'have been with me from the beginning'"
Half True

Wilson endorsed Trump in 2016 after initially supporting other candidates in the primary; Evette became politically prominent after 2018 as McMaster's running mate. Neither was a 'from the beginning' Trump supporter in the strict 2015-pre-Iowa sense, though both have been loyal since their political ascent. The phrase is rhetorical hyperbole rather than a precise factual claim.
