Today, the Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments for a case that if properly decided will go down as the most important precedent this century.
The concept of birthright citizenship is irrevocably flawed, and is neither supported by the Fourteenth Amendment, whose naturalization clause was aimed strictly at newly freed slaves, nor history — as evidenced by the fact that no other western country grants citizenship automatically by birthright.
Beyond that, it's simply a destructive policy that can no longer be justified in the face of modern challenges and decades-long abuses.
The Supreme Court has the opportunity to right this egregious and longstanding wrong by introducing much needed clarity and, finally, COMMON SENSE, into our legal system— the only question is whether there are enough justices brave and wise enough to uphold the Constitution and properly and honestly interpret it based on its original design and intent.
