Analysis: Repost of Douglas MacKinnon Anti-Wind Energy Commentary

Overview

Trump shares a quote from conservative commentator Douglas MacKinnon describing a drive from LA to Palm Springs past wind turbines, claiming only 10% were operational. This is a routine repost amplifying a supporter's message that aligns with Trump's long-standing anti-wind energy position.

Authorship

Posted at 14:04 UTC = ~10:04 AM ET. Trump is likely at the White House given the week's diplomatic activity. The polished formatting with proper attribution ("From Douglas MacKinnon:") and clean quotation suggests aide involvement, though the content aligns perfectly with Trump's known obsessions. The wind turbine fixation is deeply personal to Trump (dating to his Scottish golf course battles), making this a plausible aide-curated share of content they knew would please him.

Psychological Analysis

This is a maintenance/supply post — sharing supportive content that validates a long-held grievance. The "My best to The President!" closing provides narcissistic supply through deference. Trump's anti-wind fixation is one of his most persistent perseverations, spanning over a decade.

Rhetorical Devices

• Hyperbole: "Hundreds and Hundreds" of "junk" windmills
• Selective observation presented as data: "ONLY ten percent working"
• Emotional framing: "Eagle and bird killers," "suck the taxpayers dry"
• Appeal to authority through personal observation
