Analysis: Trump Shares NY Post Article on Bill Maher Feud

This is the third or fourth in a rapid series of posts on March 6, 2026, all sharing media coverage of Trump's Valentine's Day attack on Bill Maher. The post simply shares a NY Post headline and link with no original commentary.

Context

The underlying story dates to February 14, 2026, when Trump attacked Maher on Truth Social after a White House dinner. By March 6, Trump (or his team) is resharing multiple outlets' coverage of his own attack — a narcissistic supply loop where media coverage of his aggression becomes further fuel for self-promotion.

Authorship

Posted at 14:50 UTC = ~9:50 AM ET. Trump likely at Mar-a-Lago or White House. Business hours, no original text, formatted link share — classic aide/Scavino behavior. The systematic posting of 5+ articles from different outlets covering the same story suggests a coordinated media monitoring operation.

Psychological Dynamics

The repetitive sharing of articles about his own attacks on Maher serves dual purposes: (1) reinforcing the devaluation of Maher to his audience, and (2) extracting narcissistic supply from seeing his words amplified across media. The fact that the original attack was three weeks old yet still being reshared indicates perseverative engagement with the perceived slight.

Rhetorical Function

The post lets the NY Post headline do the rhetorical work — "slams" frames Trump as powerful, while "extremely nervous" and "ZERO confidence" are his own projection-laden characterizations of Maher echoed back through media validation.
