To the Great People of East Palestine, Ohio, who were disgracefully betrayed and forgotten about by Crooked Joe Biden — "TRUMP" has never forgotten about you, and never will! In addition to our Administration's Longterm Health Study for the benefit of the residents, we are providing $10 Million Dollars through the Economic Development Administration to help the Community continue its Economic Recovery from the disastrous train derailment. We want to see East Palestine grow, flourish, and be able to take advantage of our now BOOMING Economy. It was horrible what was allowed to happen there, and we are with you for the LONG HAUL. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Fact Checks (3)

"Biden disgracefully betrayed and forgotten about East Palestine"

Mostly False

Biden visited East Palestine in February 2024, EPA deployed emergency response teams, and the Biden administration directed federal resources to the cleanup. While criticized for slow initial response, 'betrayed and forgotten' overstates the case.

"$10 Million through the Economic Development Administration for East Palestine"

Mostly True

Trump did announce $10 million through the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for East Palestine, Ohio on approximately February 19-20, 2026 via Truth Social. This was widely covered by multiple independent news outlets including The Hill, Newsweek, NewsNation, Spectrum News 1 Ohio, WKBN, the Morning Journal, and the Salem News. Local officials corroborated the announcement: East Palestine Village Manager Antonio Diaz-Guy confirmed the village had been working with governmental representatives and the EDA to determine which projects could be funded. U.S. Rep. Michael Rulli (R-Salem) and U.S. Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) both publicly acknowledged the commitment, with Husted stating he looked forward to working with Trump to make the community 'stronger than ever.' The funding was described as complementing a separate $10 million NIH long-term health research initiative announced in June 2025. However, the rating is 'mostly true' rather than 'true' for two reasons: (1) Multiple outlets characterized this as a 'pledge' rather than confirmed disbursed funds, with Newsweek, Just The News, and several Ohio papers using the word 'pledges' in their headlines. (2) The village manager noted the $10 million 'could come to the village in the form of a grant or multiple grants,' and that it remained 'unclear at this time if East Palestine will see a lump sum of the $10 million, or if there is the potential of up to $10 million to be distributed.' Spectrum News reported reaching out to the EDA for additional details but did not indicate receiving confirmation. No major fact-checking organizations (Snopes, PolitiFact, FactCheck.org) have specifically evaluated this claim. The EDA is a real federal agency within the Department of Commerce that does administer such grants, and the announcement is consistent with the EDA's disaster recovery supplemental grant programs. In summary, the funding announcement appears genuine and was recognized by local officials and media, but at the time of the post the funds had not yet been formally awarded or disbursed, and the exact structure remained under discussion.

"BOOMING Economy"

Half True

Economic indicators in early 2026 were mixed; characterization as 'BOOMING' is subjective and self-serving.

Analysis: East Palestine, Ohio — Policy Announcement Post

Authorship

This is a polished, aide-drafted policy announcement. The post was published at 01:08 UTC on Feb 20, which is approximately 8:08 PM EST (Trump likely at Mar-a-Lago or traveling from Georgia rally). The grammar is correct, sentences are complete and structured, specific dollar figures and program names are cited ("Economic Development Administration," "$10 Million Dollars"), and the tone is measured and presidential. The self-referential "TRUMP" in quotes is a distinctive feature — referring to himself in third person with quotation marks suggests crafted messaging rather than spontaneous expression.

Psychological Dynamics

The post serves dual purposes: narcissistic supply-seeking (positioning self as savior vs. Biden's neglect) and political contrast-building. The core schema is rescuer vs. abandoner — Trump frames himself as the loyal protector who "never forgotten," while Biden "disgracefully betrayed." This is classic splitting: all-bad predecessor, all-good self.

Rhetorical Techniques

Contrast framing: Biden abandoned them; Trump saves them
Hyperbole: "BOOMING Economy," "Greatest" (in adjacent post)
Parasocial intimacy: "we are with you for the LONG HAUL"
Appeal to grievance: "horrible what was allowed to happen"
Third-person self-reference: distancing device that elevates the name to brand

Cognitive Notes

No markers of concern. This is clearly staff-written content with standard Trump branding elements (CAPS, MAGA sign-off).
