Post from Truth Social

Despite the massive amount of money being made by the United States of America, Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, as a direct result of Tariffs being charged to other countries, the full benefit of the Tariffs has not yet been calculated in that many of the buyers of goods and products, in order to avoid paying the Tariffs in the short term, "STOCK UP" by purchasing far more inventory than they can use. That heavy inventory purchase is now, however, wearing thin, and soon Tariffs will be paid on everything they apply to, without avoidance, and the amounts payable to the USA will SKYROCKET, over and above the already historic levels of dollars received. These payments will be RECORD SETTING, and put our Nation on a new and unprecedented course. We are already the "hottest" Country anywhere in the World, but this Tariff POWER will bring America National Security and Wealth the likes of which has never been seen before. Those opposing us are serving hostile foreign interests that are not aligned with the success, safety and prosperity of the USA. They couldn't care less about us. I look so much forward to the United States Supreme Court's decision on this urgent and time sensitive matter so that we can continue, in an uninterrupted manner to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT

This post reveals a grandiose narcissistic state mobilized in defense against a Supreme Court challenge to tariff authority. The economic argument employs an unfalsifiable structure: current revenue is massive, but the real windfall is yet to come because importers have been stockpiling. This hedge ensures the policy cannot be evaluated as failing. The paranoid pivot—casting policy opponents as agents of "hostile foreign interests"—transforms legitimate disagreement into betrayal, functioning as both a loyalty test and epistemic closure mechanism. The formal sign-off ("President DJT") and direct Supreme Court appeal suggest awareness of institutional threat. The post's core distortion—that tariffs are paid by foreign countries rather than U.S. importers—is maintained as foundational to the entire argument. Psychologically, this is preemptive narcissistic defense: establishing the narrative of historic success before the court can rule otherwise, ensuring any adverse ruling can be framed as an attack on American prosperity rather than a constitutional correction.

Danger Assessment

None

Gaslighting Detected:
  • Framing tariffs as paid by foreign countries rather than U.S. importers
  • Claiming opposition serves 'hostile foreign interests' to delegitimize policy disagreement
Reality Distortions:
  • 'Hundreds of Billions of Dollars' significantly overstates actual tariff revenue
  • Tariffs framed as paid by other countries when they are paid by U.S. importers
  • 'Hottest Country anywhere in the World' presented as objective fact
Fact Checks (3)
"Hundreds of Billions of Dollars collected from tariffs"
Mostly False

U.S. tariff revenue historically runs $80-100B annually. Even with Trump-era tariffs, 'hundreds of billions' significantly overstates actual collections. Tariffs are also paid by U.S. importers, not foreign countries.

"Buyers 'STOCK UP' to avoid tariffs, masking true revenue potential"
Half True

Front-loading imports ahead of tariff implementation is a documented economic behavior, but Trump frames this as the sole reason revenue hasn't met his claims rather than acknowledging tariff avoidance through supply chain restructuring.

"We are already the 'hottest' Country anywhere in the World"
Unverifiable

Subjective claim lacking defined metrics. U.S. economic performance is strong by some measures but not universally leading across all indicators.

Daily Digest Loyalty Purge Day: Trump Labels Former Ally MTG a "Traitor" While Pressuring Supreme Court on Tariffs

Trump spent the day enforcing party loyalty, publicly branding former ally Marjorie Taylor Greene a "Traitor" and stripping her surname, then escalating to attack Rand Paul and Thomas Massie as obstacles to his legislative agenda. A lengthy late-night post defending tariff policy doubled as a direct...
