Post from Truth Social

Despite the massive amount of money being made by the United States of America, Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, as a direct result of Tariffs being charged to other countries, the full benefit of the Tariffs has not yet been calculated in that many of the buyers of goods and products, in order to avoid paying the Tariffs in the short term, "STOCK UP" by purchasing far more inventory than they can use in order to avoid Tariff payments in the short term. That heavy inventory purchase is now, however, wearing thin, and soon Tariffs will be paid on everything they apply to, without avoidance, and the amounts payable to the USA will SKYROCKET, over and above the already historic levels of dollars received. These payments will be RECORD SETTING, and put our Nation on a new and unprecedented course. We are already the "hottest" Country anywhere in the World, but this Tariff POWER will bring America National Security and Wealth the likes of which has never been seen before. Those opposing us are serving hostile foreign interests that are not aligned with the success, safety and prosperity of the USA. They couldn't care less about us. I look so much forward to the United States Supreme Court's decision on this urgent and time sensitive matter so that we can continue, in an uninterrupted manner to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Thank you for your attention to this matter! President

This late-night post reveals preemptive anxiety about a pending Supreme Court tariff ruling. Trump constructs an unfalsifiable economic narrative: current tariff revenue is "historic," but the real payoff is yet to come because importers stockpiled goods. This framework immunizes the policy against any empirical challenge. The post's most significant psychological feature is the paranoid splitting of domestic policy opponents into agents of "hostile foreign interests"—transforming economic policy disagreement into a loyalty test. This delegitimization of dissent as quasi-treason is consistent with authoritarian rhetorical patterns. The grandiose narcissistic state is evident throughout, with superlative stacking reaching notable density ("RECORD SETTING," "unprecedented," "hottest," "never been seen before"). The direct appeal to the Supreme Court, combined with public pressure framing ("urgent and time sensitive"), suggests awareness that tariff authority may be curtailed. The closing "President" sign-off—unusual for Trump—may reflect an attempt to invoke institutional weight in anticipation of judicial review. Core economic claim that foreign countries pay tariffs contradicts mainstream economic consensus.

Elevated

Indicators:
  • Framing domestic policy opponents as serving 'hostile foreign interests'
  • Delegitimization of dissent as disloyalty to nation
  • Implicit pressure on Supreme Court via public framing
Gaslighting Detected:
  • Persistent misrepresentation that foreign countries pay tariffs when domestic consumers bear the cost
  • Construction of unfalsifiable narrative framework (stockpiling explains any revenue shortfall)
Reality Distortions:
  • Foreign countries pay tariffs (they don't—domestic importers do)
  • Tariff revenue at 'historic levels' framed as pure benefit without acknowledging consumer cost
  • Policy opponents characterized as agents of foreign powers
Fact Checks (3)
"Hundreds of Billions of Dollars collected from tariffs charged to other countries"
Mostly False

Tariffs are paid by domestic importers, not foreign countries. US tariff revenue in 2025 was elevated but economists widely agree the cost is borne by American businesses and consumers through higher prices.

"Importers 'STOCK UP' to avoid tariff payments"
Mostly True

Front-loading of imports ahead of tariff deadlines is well-documented economic behavior observed in 2018-2019 and again in 2025.

"We are already the 'hottest' Country anywhere in the World"
Half True

US economic growth was relatively strong compared to other G7 nations, but characterization as 'hottest' is subjective hyperbole.

“The Supreme Court will rule in favor of continued, uninterrupted tariff authority”
vs.
“The Supreme Court RANSACKED the country with its tariff ruling.”
Stating the Court 'RANSACKED the country with its tariff ruling' directly asserts the tariff ruling was harmful and went against tariff authority — a clear reversal of the source's confident prediction that the Court would rule in favor of continued, uninterrupted tariff authority.
