Why doesn't the Senate do it for keeping the government open? And I've called on Leader Thune and the Republicans in the Senate do away with the 60-vote threshold to pass a funding bill to fund the government. Take seven Democrats to vote to pass it because it needs 60 votes. I've called on Thune to do away with the 60-vote threshold to simply fund our government. Obviously, they haven't done that. So it requires them to go to Democrats to get the vote. They just exercise the nuclear option to pass Trump's judges and other confirmations because, of course, Democrats are holding that up as well. Why in the world are we going to Chuck Schumer to get 60 votes to fund the government? I don't understand it. So why don't we just do what he says that we're doing and call on Thune, which I have done repeatedly, to do away with the filibuster 60-vote threshold and pass the CR to fund the government. So the bill sitting in the Senate, I've called on Leader Thune numerous times. I know he's not going to do it. I've had discussions with leadership on it, change the rules and allow it to pass by majority of the chamber.
