Post from Truth Social

It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax. This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again! That's right, as it now turns out, FBI Agents were at, and in, the January 6th Protest, probably acting as Agitators and Insurrectionists, but certainly not as "Law Enforcement Officials." I want to know who each and every one of these so-called "Agents" are, and what they were up to on that now "Historic" Day. Many Great American Patriots were made to pay a very big price only for the love their Country. I owe this investigation of "Dirty Cops and Crooked Politicians" to them! Christopher Wray, the then Director of the FBI, has some major explaining to do. That's two in a row, Comey and Wray, who got caught LYING, with our Great Country at stake. WE CAN NEVER LET THIS HAPPEN TO AMERICA AGAIN!

This post exemplifies Trump's systematic revisionism of January 6, employing DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) to recast convicted participants as "Great American Patriots" and FBI agents as the true insurrectionists. The narcissistic function is multilayered: exonerating himself, creating martyrs whose suffering he can avenge, and delegitimizing the institutions that investigated him. The transactional loyalty schema is explicit—"I owe this investigation...to them!"—revealing relationships conceptualized as debt exchanges. Combined with the previous day's celebration of Comey's indictment, a pattern emerges of using presidential power for sequential retribution against former FBI directors. The demand to identify "each and every one" of the FBI agents constitutes an elevated danger indicator, as it targets individual law enforcement personnel for potential retribution. The post's conspiracy architecture—FBI as orchestrator of January 6—represents a significant reality distortion requiring followers to reject extensive documentary and judicial evidence. Clinically, the post is consistent with grandiose narcissistic functioning with paranoid features: a persecutory conspiracy is revealed, the subject positions himself as the uniquely capable avenger, and institutional authority is simultaneously weaponized (his DOJ) and delegitimized (prior FBI leadership). The cognitive pattern shows baseline-consistent production with minor errors attributable to rapid composition rather than decline.

Elevated

Indicators:
  • Demands identification of individual FBI agents ('I want to know who each and every one')
  • Implicit threat of retributive investigation
  • Pattern of using presidential power against former law enforcement officials
  • Framing of convicted individuals as martyrs may encourage future similar action
Gaslighting Detected:
  • Reframing documented violent assault on Capitol as 'Protest' and 'Hoax'
  • Claiming FBI agents were the real insurrectionists
  • Demanding acceptance of revisionist January 6 narrative
  • Delegitimizing FBI director's sworn testimony
Reality Distortions:
  • January 6 reframed from violent breach of Capitol to 'Protest' and 'Hoax'
  • FBI agents characterized as insurrectionists without evidence
  • Convicted rioters reframed as innocent patriots
  • Implication that FBI orchestrated January 6
Fact Checks (3)
"274 FBI agents were secretly placed in the January 6 crowd"
Mostly False

While FBI did have confidential human sources and some agents present, the characterization of 274 agents 'secretly placed' as 'agitators' distorts available evidence. The actual number and role of FBI personnel has been subject to ongoing investigation, but no credible source confirms they acted as agitators.

"Christopher Wray lied about FBI presence at January 6"
Half True

Wray's testimony was carefully worded and arguably incomplete, but characterizing it as lying oversimplifies the distinction between confidential sources, undercover agents, and informants.

"January 6 participants paid a price 'only for the love of their Country'"
False

Over 1,200 individuals were charged; convictions included assault on police officers, obstruction of official proceedings, and seditious conspiracy. Courts found criminal conduct, not mere patriotic expression.
