The First Lady and I are here in Texas to express the love and support and the anguish of our entire nation in the aftermath of this horrific flood. Following a torrential downpour, the Guadalupe River rose 26 feet in less than 45 minutes. The waters claimed at least 140 lives. I want to thank all of these great First Responders who raced into very grave danger. We just met with the wonderful families, we pray with them, we hug, we hold hands to the community, to everybody who lost a loved one. Our nation is grieving with you.
