Post from Truth Social

I HATE “GREEN TAX CREDITS” IN THE GREAT, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL. They are largely a giant SCAM. I would much prefer that this money be used somewhere else, including reductions. “Anywhere” would be preferable! Windmills, and the rest of this “JUNK,” are the most expensive and inefficient energy in the world, is destroying the beauty of the environment, and is 10 times more costly than any other energy. None of it works without massive government subsidy (energy should NOT NEED SUBSIDY!). Also, it is almost exclusively made in China!!! It is time to break away, finally, from this craziness!!!

This post is notable for its timing and emotional rawness. On a day when Trump ordered military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities — arguably the most consequential military decision of his second term — he publicly posts "I HATE" about green energy tax credits in a reconciliation bill. The psychological prioritization is significant: congressional defiance on domestic legislation triggers more visible emotional distress than managing a military operation. The "I HATE" opener is unusually unfiltered even by Trump's standards, suggesting genuine narcissistic injury at having provisions he opposes included in legislation he considers his own ("the Great, Big, Beautiful Bill"). The post contains multiple false or misleading claims about wind energy costs and manufacturing origin, deployed not as strategic misinformation but as emotionally driven categorical dismissal. The splitting defense is prominent — green energy occupies the "all bad" pole with no acknowledgment of complexity. This post functions as public legislative pressure, signaling to congressional Republicans that these provisions are personally offensive to the president.

Fact Checks (3)
"Wind energy is 10 times more costly than any other energy"
False

Onshore wind is among the cheapest new electricity sources globally per LCOE analyses (IRENA, Lazard). It is comparable to or cheaper than new natural gas in many markets.

"Wind energy is almost exclusively made in China"
Mostly False

China is the largest manufacturer of wind turbines, but major manufacturers include Vestas (Denmark), Siemens Gamesa (Germany/Spain), and GE (US). US has significant domestic wind manufacturing capacity.

"None of it works without massive government subsidy"
Half True

Wind has historically relied on production tax credits, but mature wind installations are increasingly competitive without subsidies. However, most new projects still utilize available tax credits.

Daily Digest Peacemaker at Dawn, Bomber by Dusk: Trump Stages the Iran Strikes Narrative

Trump spent the day building toward his biggest military decision yet — ordering U.S. strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities. The morning before began quietly with a shared clip casting him as a peacemaker, making the evening's bombing announcement a jarring reversal. In between, he lashed out ...
