Post from Truth Social

The ridiculous story put out today about me talking to a Mar-a-Lago member about U.S. Submarines, is false and ridiculous, other than the fact that I will often state that we make the best Submarines and Military Equipment anywhere in the World—A pretty well known fact! These fake stories are put out by corrupt prosecutors trying to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024, and based on the polling, where I am 60 points up on Republican Candidates, and 11 points up on Crooked Joe Biden, the people of our Country aren’t buying it. With that being said, I will always promote the Greatness of America—and its Military Equipment. The alternative would be for Allies, and others, to buy from Russia, China, or elsewhere. I like creating jobs in America, which was one of my most successful achievements as President!

This post responds to allegations that Trump disclosed classified submarine information to a Mar-a-Lago member, employing his characteristic defensive sequence: blanket denial → prosecutor attack → polling dominance reassertion → patriotic pivot → jobs coda. The double use of "ridiculous" in the opening sentence signals genuine narcissistic injury; dismissive vocabulary clusters when the wound is real. The post performs a textbook DARVO maneuver — collapsing a specific classified-document-handling allegation into a generic patriotic statement about American military greatness, while recasting prosecutors as corrupt election-interferers. The vulnerable-to-grandiose oscillation (persecuted victim → polling champion → presidential achiever) within a single 200-word post is diagnostically consistent with established patterns. Polling claims are materially exaggerated: the +11 Biden figure contradicts all major contemporaneous polls; the +60 Republican figure overstates documented leads. Posted at 2:19 PM EDT during his ongoing NY fraud trial — a period of high legal stress — the post is authentic Trump with high confidence. Danger is elevated due to the prosecutorial-enemy framing, which cumulatively constructs specific legal officials as anti-democratic aggressors against the popular will. No eliminationist language; no direct incitement.

Indicators:
  • Double use of 'ridiculous' in opening clause — characteristic emotional clustering
  • Idiosyncratic capitalization: Submarines, Military Equipment, Greatness, Allies, Presidential Election
  • Mid-post polling self-citation as dominance reassertion
  • Parenthetical self-congratulation: 'A pretty well known fact!'
  • Terminal jobs/economy coda appearing regardless of topical relevance — perseverative tag

Danger Assessment

Elevated

Indicators:
  • 'Corrupt prosecutors trying to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024' — frames specific named legal officials as enemies of democracy and the will of the people
  • Delegitimization of prosecution as election interference creates justification framework for audience hostility toward prosecutors
  • Cumulative stochastic terrorism pattern: target identification (prosecutors) + grievance articulation (corrupt, anti-democratic) + implied popular mandate against them
  • No direct incitement; danger does not rise to 'high' in this post but is part of an escalating pattern across multiple posts
Gaslighting Detected:
  • Collapses specific legal allegation (classified document disclosure to unauthorized Mar-a-Lago member) into generic claim about patriotic enthusiasm for American military — requires audience to accept dramatically simplified reframe
  • DARVO structure: prosecutors are the ones interfering with democracy, Trump is the defender of it
  • 'Fake stories' framing attacks legitimacy of journalism and prosecution simultaneously
  • Reality revision: 'other than the fact that I will often state we make the best Submarines' — acknowledges kernel while distorting the whole
Reality Distortions:
  • Transforms classified-document-handling allegation into a statement about patriotic military promotion
  • Frames coordinated prosecution across multiple jurisdictions as a single election-interference conspiracy
  • Polling claim of 11-point general election lead over Biden contradicts polling consensus (no major poll supported this margin)
  • Polling claim of 60-point Republican primary lead exaggerates documented 40-45 point advantage
Fact Checks (4)
"60 points up on Republican Candidates"
Mostly False

October 2023 RealClearPolitics averages showed Trump leading the Republican primary field by approximately 40-45 points over DeSantis. No credible aggregation supported a 60-point margin over the field.

"11 points up on Crooked Joe Biden"
False

General election polling in October 2023 showed a near-even race. Some outlier polls showed Trump +4 to +6, but no major poll in this period registered Trump +11. This figure has no basis in contemporaneous polling consensus.

"We make the best Submarines and Military Equipment anywhere in the World"
Unverifiable

A matter of national pride opinion rather than an empirically verifiable factual claim. U.S. military technology is generally considered world-class but 'best' is subjective and context-dependent.

"Fake stories put out by corrupt prosecutors trying to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024"
Mostly False

The submarine story originated in reporting related to Trump's classified documents indictment (Jack Smith's DOJ prosecution), not from prosecutors issuing press releases. Characterizing federal prosecution as election interference is a political framing, not a factual claim about prosecutorial conduct.
