So look, the Republicans were unwilling or unable, 20 of them, I want to be clear. Most Republicans voted for this. I think that's a really important point. And Thomas Massey makes a very technical argument, but if I were to respectfully push back against Thomas Massey, who's been on this program, and I think he's right on a lot of different stuff. You think the Democrats really care about principle? The Democrats are bloodthirsty. The Democrats are indicting Trump and indicting Bannon and they raid James O'Keefe's apartment. I mean, these people are playing for keeps. We're not even playing the game. No, we are playing the game. We're playing baseball. The Democrats will not take us seriously unless they believe there is a cost to their criminality, if there is a cost to all the indecent acts against the country. Now the counter argument is like, well, look, we care about principles and they don't, therefore we're better than them. I think that's happy talk. And by the way, I don't think there's anything on principle about levying a fine against a traitor who used the chairmanship of the house intelligence committee to peddle a lie to destroy a presidency. We're not talking about peddling a fine for some insignificant thing. And Adam Schiff is now running for the United States Senate in California. He very well might become a Senator and Republicans can't agree in the context of Donald Trump being indicted on 37 federal counts. So Mike Pence was asked about this on the Clay and Buck Travis radio program. I am confused. I think Mike Pence should go be a pastor. I think he's a good Christian. He's been loyally married to his wife. He does believe in Christ and the word of God. I don't know, I do not know why he's running for the presidency. I don't, I don't know what constituency he thinks he's going to win over. I don't know why he's doing this to himself. I don't, because it's not going to go well. This is just the beginning of widespread media, right wing media attacks and humiliation against him. And I say this actually as someone, he was always very sweet to me. He took me on air force too. We had a great time together. I thought him to be very clear with me. He spoke at our events. I'm just being very honest with, I am saying public and private. I have no idea why he's running for the presidency. This is not good for his career. It's not good for the country. And by the way, I'm getting tons of angry messages. Charlie, how dare you say something good about him? I'm just an honest guy. Mike Pence was always very good to me. Okay. I don't know why he's running and he's totally wrong with how he's handling this document thing. He is just so off the mark. I don't know what constituency he thinks he's going to win over. I don't know what community of voters he thinks he's going to be able to be persuasive to. And so, Clay and Buck on their program asked Mike Pence, will you pardon Donald Trump? Play cut 75. Let's presume you're fortunate enough to take oath of office. January, 2025, you become the next president of the United States. Donald Trump is convicted of what I think you would agree are clearly to a large degree, political based charges. Would you pardon him from those federal charges? Well, first off, these are serious charges. And as I said, I can't defend what's been alleged, but the president does deserve to make his defense. And I take the pardon authority very seriously. It's an enormously important power of someone in an executive position. And I just think it's premature to have any conversation about that right now, guys. Oh man, I'm going to get a lot of hate mail for this, but I don't care. It's true. Mike, just drop out of the race because you were always good to me. I'm telling you, man, you don't want to keep running. This is not going to end well. This is really bad. You're not going to get invited to a Lincoln Reagan day dinner in rural Arkansas after this. You're not going to get a book deal. You're going to be like Chris Christie on steroids. Just say, you know what, I announced too soon. I'm done. This is, you are totally misreading the room. You are so out of touch with what voters want. You are so out of touch with where the conservative base is. You are, that is a smug answer. That is a DC script that, well, these are very serious charges. Oh man, Clay responds challenging him. Play cut 76. I mean, look, we either believe in our judicial process in this country or we don't, we either stand by the rule of law. We don't. I just thought what I would tell you is I think as someone, what I'm hearing is you're fine with Donald Trump being put in prison, sir. And that to me, since you were his vice president feels pretty disrespectful. I had a standard rule. I don't talk about hypotheticals. Hold on, they talk about hypotheticals. You're running for the presidency. And I got to tell you, Mike Pence, either we trust our judicial process or not. I don't trust our judicial process. Are you kidding me? Mike Pence. You mean the judicial process that just cleared you of documents. They could have imprisoned you, but you're not a threat to them. Mike Pence, you're trying to tell me that you handled everything perfectly. They released you from the criminal indictments or threats because they would love Mike Pence because you stand for neoliberalism and you're polling with nine people in Iowa. I believe in the judicial, the same judicial process that has Steve Bannon under indictment that went after Dinesh D'Souza, that rated James O'Keefe's home, the same judicial process that has a meme maker, Douglas Mackey, going to prison for nearly a decade for a joke. I either we trust the judicial process or not, wake up, call Mike Pence. Half the country doesn't trust the judicial process in this country. He's an institutionalist defending all of this injustice. We got January six prisoners rotting in a gulag in pretrial detention. Well, either we trust the judicial process or not. Do you mean with activist judges that were overturning Trump's executive orders at every turn? No, I don't trust that judicial process. You mean an activist judge like we have in Florida that said, well, you know, gender is what you want it to be. I don't trust the judicial process of what it's become in this country. I don't trust the FBI. I don't trust Christopher Ray. I don't trust the department of justice. Mike Pence, you're trying to tell me I'm supposed to trust the digital process where John Durham issues this book report and nobody goes to jail. What do you trust in exactly Mike Pence? The answer is he's trusting because he got off for the document stuff and Trump didn't.
