Pastor Robert Jeffress: “He is going to be the GOP Nominee…they know he will be the next President of the United States, and they know they can’t defeat him at the ballot box!”
Video transcript
I want to bring in now Pastor Robert Jeffress, who says the indictment certainly will not affect Trump's evangelical support. Jeffress says he texted Trump just moments ago, and he's with me now. So Pastor, first of all, what did you say to the former president? Well, I said, first of all, there are millions of Christians that are praying for him right now. They love President Trump. He's the most pro-life, pro-religious, liberty president in history. But I also said that he is immunized against any indictment because of the Durham report. The Durham report showed that the Russia investigation was a complete hoax and political. And look, Harris, we've seen this over the last seven years. Since the time he descended the escalator and Trump Tower, we've seen people either try to keep him from office or to remove him out of office. And the same thing is happening right now. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the left looks at Trump's polls increasing. He is going to be the GOP nominee, as Nancy May said. And I'll go one step further. They know he will be the next president of the United States. They know they can't defeat him at the ballot box. So the Biden administration, knowing they've got a weak and perhaps corrupt president, they're going to try to keep him out of office another way. I predict, Harris, it's not going to work. I think evangelical Christians are going to turn out in droves now to support this president. And I'm saying tonight, this is a reset. This is a reset. I think it's time for all evangelical Christians. It's time for all Republicans to get behind the candidate who has the best chance of defeating Biden and turn out in record numbers. Pastor Jeffers, I want to just bring something up. We lost a light today in the spiritual world, Pat Robertson. And his lifetime was probably the first time that we had seen as a nation. He died today at 93. So this would have been decades in the making of infusing faith into politics. In fact, he's often credited with having put politics and religion together for Christian conservatives in this country for the Republican Party. And I want to get the reaction from you now because you talk politics. You talk pulpit. I mean, these things are fusing together. And just your thoughts on today. Well, Pat Robertson will always be known as a pioneer broadcaster, a former presidential candidate himself. But what he's best known for is melding the world of politics and the world of religion. Remember, prior to 1979, when he started the Christian coalition, most Christians bought into the lie that faith and politics should be kept separate. Pat Robertson showed that our faith ought to impact everything we do, including how we vote.
