Analysis: Link-Only Post Sharing Anti-Garland Article

This post is one of three consecutive link shares (all from October 6, 2022) targeting Merrick Garland and the FBI, following the August 2022 Mar-a-Lago search. The shared article from American Greatness ("Why Merrick Garland Is Losing the People") is a right-wing opinion piece framing Garland as politically motivated.

Pattern Context

Three posts in sequence share articles attacking Garland/FBI, forming a curated narrative barrage rather than spontaneous expression. This is consistent with aide-managed content distribution or a deliberate media-sharing campaign.

Authorship

Post time: ~12:52 PM ET (Trump likely at Mar-a-Lago or NYC). Business-hours, link-only, no personal commentary — strongly suggests aide (likely Scavino) curation. The article itself is from August 15, nearly two months old, suggesting a deliberate archival pull rather than reactive sharing.

Psychological Function

The post serves as narcissistic supply maintenance and grievance reinforcement. By sharing third-party criticism of Garland, Trump externalizes his persecution narrative through proxy voices, lending it apparent legitimacy without personal exposure.

Rhetorical Function

Letting others make the argument is a form of appeal to authority — "even the media agrees Garland is wrong." The firehose pattern (three articles in rapid succession) follows the RAND model of volume-based persuasion.
