Analysis: Link-Only Share of Gateway Pundit Article (2022-09-12)

This post is a bare URL share to a Gateway Pundit article featuring attorney Peter Ticktin, described as "President Trump's friend," making metaphorical claims about a "tide" that will "overpower deep state sandcastles." The post contains no original commentary.

Context

This appears during the Mar-a-Lago documents investigation, shortly after the special master ruling that Trump's team considered a legal victory. The post fits a pattern of curating sympathetic media coverage — five consecutive link-only shares from right-wing outlets over 9/11-9/12.

Authorship

Posted at 15:13 UTC = 11:13 AM ET. Trump was likely at Mar-a-Lago or Bedminster in September 2022. Business-hours timing, no original text, curated partisan media — consistent with aide (likely Scavino) managing a content queue.

Psychological Significance

The article title itself reveals the narrative framework being promoted: Trump as inevitable natural force ("tide") versus fragile illegitimate opposition ("deep state sandcastles"). This is supply-seeking through proxy validation — having allies articulate the grandiose narrative rather than stating it directly.

Rhetorical Function

The Gateway Pundit is a far-right outlet with low factual reliability ratings. Sharing it uncritically reinforces epistemic closure within the base. The "deep state" framing is a paranoid construct positioning legitimate law enforcement as conspiratorial enemies.
