Analysis: Book Promotion for Dick Morris's "The Return"

This is a promotional post for Dick Morris's book "The Return," which predicted Trump's political comeback. The post is relatively low-intensity — a book endorsement wrapped in self-serving narrative.

Timing & Authorship

Posted at 2:19 AM UTC = ~10:19 PM ET (late August 2022, Trump likely at Bedminster, NJ). The late evening timing is consistent with authentic Trump posting. The style — superlatives ("fantastic," "Great book"), exclamation marks, direct call to action ("get it now!!!") — is characteristic Trump promotional language.

Psychological Context

This arrives amid the Mar-a-Lago raid fallout. Promoting a book titled "The Return" that frames his political comeback serves as narcissistic supply — validating the grandiose self-narrative through a third-party authority figure (a "#1 New York Times Bestselling Author"). Dick Morris, a longtime political operative who has been consistently favorable to Trump, functions here as an idealizing mirror.

Rhetorical Devices

• Appeal to authority (NYT bestselling author, "true political pro")
• Superlatives ("fantastic," "#1," "Great")
• Hedged grandiosity via proxy ("what very well may be taking place") — lets the audience infer the comeback without explicitly claiming it
• Triple exclamation marks signal enthusiasm/authenticity

Narrative Identity

The post reinforces the Hero/Savior returning narrative. "The Return" title itself is messianic framing, and Trump's endorsement signals alignment with that self-concept.
