Fact Checks (1)

"Truth Social grows exponentially following FBI raid"

Mostly True

Truth Social did see a significant spike in downloads (reported ~550% increase) after the August 8 search. However, 'exponentially' is hyperbolic — the growth was a temporary spike, not sustained exponential growth. The app had been struggling with downloads prior to the raid.

Analysis: Truth Social Growth Post (2022-08-24)

This post shares a headline from RSB Network about Truth Social's growth following the FBI's August 8 search of Mar-a-Lago. It's one of two nearly identical posts sharing articles about the same topic (the other citing Hannity's "550% Boost" figure).

Authorship

Posted at 1:36 PM ET (Trump was likely at Bedminster, NJ during this period based on August 2022 patterns). Business hours, clean formatting, simple link-share with headline quote — consistent with aide/Scavino posting pattern. The ALL CAPS headline is simply quoted from the article itself.

Psychological Function

This post serves a narcissistic supply and narrative reframing function. The FBI search — a narcissistic injury — is transformed into evidence of triumph. The implicit logic: persecution → rallying support → platform growth → vindication. This is a classic redemption sequence (bad event → good outcome).

Defense Mechanisms

Rationalization: The raid becomes a business success story rather than a legal threat
Denial: No engagement with the substance of the investigation; reframes entirely around platform metrics

Rhetorical Techniques

The word "EXPONENTIALLY" is classic Trumpian hyperbole (550% growth is large but not exponential in mathematical terms). Sharing third-party articles praising him is a supply-gathering technique — letting others voice the grandiosity provides deniability while still broadcasting it.

Context

This is the second of two posts on identical themes within the same day, suggesting deliberate messaging strategy around the narrative that the FBI search backfired. This coordinated repetition is more consistent with a communications strategy than impulsive posting.
