Post from Truth Social

Analysis: Truth Social Download Boost Post (2022-08-24)

A straightforward self-promotional post sharing a Hannity.com headline about Truth Social experiencing a 550% boost in downloads following the Mar-a-Lago FBI search. The post consists entirely of a quoted headline and link with no original commentary.

Authorship

Posted at 1:35 PM ET (Trump likely at Bedminster, NJ during this period given summer schedule). Business hours, clean formatting, simple link-share with quoted headline — consistent with aide/Scavino posting pattern. No typos, no emotional commentary, no ALL CAPS original text (the caps are from the headline itself).

Psychological Context

This fits a pattern of reframing the Mar-a-Lago search as ultimately beneficial — converting perceived persecution into evidence of popularity/strength. The post implicitly argues: the raid backfired on my opponents. This is a classic narcissistic reframe where injury becomes supply.

Rhetorical Function

The headline does the rhetorical work: "AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH" is a pun on Truth Social's name while asserting vindication. By sharing rather than composing, the post leverages third-party validation (Hannity) — a common technique for supply-seeking without appearing to self-aggrandize directly.
