Analysis: Link-Only Post — Michael "Harry-O" Harris / Death Row Records

Post Overview

Trump shares a Spectrum News article about Michael "Harry-O" Harris, co-founder of Death Row Records, whom Trump pardoned in January 2021 after 33 years in prison. The article profiles Harris's post-release life and his return to Death Row Records alongside Snoop Dogg. This is a link-only post with no commentary.

Context

This post appears amid a flurry of link-sharing on August 17, 2022 — the day of Liz Cheney's Wyoming primary loss. Several of the day's posts highlight Trump-aligned victories or cultural endorsements. The previous post features rapper DaBaby praising Trump. This post continues that pattern — showcasing Trump's pardon of a Black music industry figure, signaling cross-racial cultural relevance.

Authorship

Posted at 2:23 PM ET (Trump likely at Bedminster, NJ in August 2022). Business-hours timing, link-only format with no personal commentary — consistent with aide/Scavino curation. Part of a batch of rapid-fire link shares.

Psychological Function

This is a supply-seeking post operating through indirect self-aggrandizement. By sharing the article, Trump highlights his clemency power and its positive outcome without explicitly claiming credit. The implicit message: "I pardoned this man and look at the good that came from it." Combined with the DaBaby post, it constructs a narrative of Black cultural figures appreciating Trump — addressing a perceived political weakness.

Rhetorical Function

• Implicit self-praise via third-party narrative
• Cultural signaling — hip-hop, Black community outreach
• Contrast building — "I freed people" vs. political opponents' attacks

Clinical Significance

Minimal. This is routine political messaging. No emotional reactivity, no cognitive markers, no rage indicators.
