Location and clock

He spent the weekend at his Palm Beach club. The first post, a photo caption about Rory McIlroy and his father "at Trump International Golf Club, Palm Beach County, Florida!" (ts_116394673326324766), places him there on Sunday evening. All times below are EDT (UTC−4). Because of the UTC day boundary, this digest runs from 8:56 PM Sunday to 7:04 PM Monday. All 23 posts carry analysis, and they fall into three blocks:

The overnight block matters most for sleep. He posted at 12:43 AM, then five times between 2:35 and 2:38 AM, then at 4:10 AM. The longest gap all day runs from 4:10 AM to 10:23 AM, about six hours, and the gaps before it were under two hours. That points to broken, short sleep on the night before the blockade took effect. One caveat: the 2:35 AM block is five bare headline links, and one of them is a verbatim duplicate. Pasted links are the kind of post that could be queued, so these timestamps show less about his waking hours than the 12:43 AM announcement does. Twenty-three posts, with a night session this dense, is heavy activity. Still, one day of it does not make a hypomanic episode: the posts stay organized around one real crisis, and there is no flight of ideas.

Sunday night: the Pope, and then the halo

The day's peak anger came second. Seven minutes after the golf caption, ts_116394704213456431 attacks Pope Leo XIV in more than 300 words: "Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy." The trigger in the historian record is the Pope calling Trump's Iran threats "truly unacceptable" and speaking of "fear" of the administration. The post turns that word around ("doesn't mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church... had during COVID") and then claims credit for the papacy itself: "If I wasn't in the White House, Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican." According to the post analysis, it also plays the Pope's MAGA-supporting brother Louis against him and names David Axelrod. That turns an argument about policy into a question of loyalty to Trump. Several claims in it are false or inflated: a "LANDSLIDE" election, the "Greatest Stock Market in History," and implied mass arrests of clergy during COVID.

Forty-six minutes later, ts_116394884725149647 posts an image with no caption. It shows him "in a white robe with a red sash," with "a glowing halo-like light around his head," laying a hand on a sick man's forehead "with light radiating from the point of contact." It came right after an attack that cast the Pope as morally unfit, so the pairing puts his own spiritual standing above the Pope's. The image is the day's clearest expression of grandiosity. The historian record says he deleted it Monday after rare criticism from religious conservatives and explained, "I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do with Red Cross." That explanation fits the red sash. It does not account for the halo or the radiating light. The retreat is unusually fast for him, but it happened off the feed, and no post that day mentions it.

The rest of Sunday night was lighter self-promotion: a "TRUMP" tower on a cratered moon surface (ts_116394885575318850), a meme contrasting career politicians' "years in office" with him (ts_116394964157828494), and two clips. One opens "We saw the dark side of the moon... we kicked the bejesus out of the IRCG" (ts_116395052461858611). The other says allies "dropped us like a bad date" and carries his voice saying "Putin's afraid of us, very afraid of us" (ts_116395134909243812). Two Swalwell links went up at 9:48–9:49 PM. The second carries the Guardian's headline, "DHS investigating claim about Swalwell nanny filed by conspiracy theorist" (ts_116394883403228203). That headline undercuts the complaint he was promoting, which suggests he picked it for the target's name and did not read the framing.

After midnight: an act of war in memo form

At 12:43 AM, ts_116395566253303665 announces: "The United States to Blockade Ships Entering or Exiting Iranian Ports on April 13 at 10:00 A.M. ET. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" This post carries the day's high danger rating. The historian record lays out the stakes: the Islamabad talks had just collapsed, the IRGC had warned that US vessels would face "severe force," and oil went past $103 once the blockade was confirmed. The sign-off is the one he uses on routine notices, and it sits on an announcement of a blockade, which international law treats as an act of war.

The 2:35–2:38 AM burst is praise and old grievance, one after another. It includes "The Trump card the president holds if Iran won't bend: a naval blockade" (ts_116396012068955371), Swalwell ending his campaign (ts_116396014283361917), and the ballroom appeals ruling (ts_116396018564238264). It also includes the same impeachment article twice, two minutes apart (ts_116396009153482976, ts_116396016565406676). His text reads "Impeachment Bombshell" while the URL slug reads "ukraine-bombshell-long-secret-memos." Changing Ukraine to impeachment makes the story about him. At 4:10 AM he added "Trump brilliantly calls Iran's bluff" (ts_116396382206568435). With the blockade six hours away, the overnight posts show him collecting outside praise for the decision more than making a case for it.

Monday morning: the threat

At 10:23 AM, 23 minutes after CENTCOM began enforcing the blockade, ts_116397847496142849 is the strongest wartime statement of the day: "Iran's Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated - 158 ships." The next sentence undoes "completely": "What we have not hit are their small number of... 'fast attack ships.'" Then he warns that any such ship coming "anywhere close to our BLOCKADE" will be eliminated. According to the analysis, he compares this to strikes on drug boats and uses the phrase "quick and brutal," along with a "98.2%" drug-reduction figure that is almost certainly invented. The ratings rest on this post and the midnight announcement. These are threats made by the state against a military in a declared conflict. They do not call on his followers to act, so the day shows no pattern of stochastic terrorism.

Afternoon: defending the record

After the threat, the posts turn defensive. At 12:32 PM, ts_116398354806956903 describes the dismissal of his $10 billion lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal this way: "It is not a termination, it is a suggested re-filing." The historian record says the judge dismissed the case for failure to plausibly allege actual malice and gave him until April 27 to amend. The date is right, but "suggested re-filing" turns a dismissal into an invitation. A minute later, ts_116398358272601798 boasts that "34 Ships went through the Strait of Hormuz yesterday." Boasting about Strait traffic on the day he blockades Iranian ports does not contradict itself, since the blockade covers Iranian ports only. Still, it shows his posts measuring success by a moving number. Both posts close with "President DONALD J. TRUMP," the formulaic signature behind their low authorship scores.

The second angry post came at 4:54 PM. ts_116399385880639539 answers New York Times coverage: despite Iran being "totally OBLITERATED, Militarily, and otherwise, you would think that Iran is actually winning." It escalates from the paper's "horrible actions against me, my supporters, and our Country itself," a list that starts with himself and ends with the country, making press scrutiny of a war an attack on both. The trigger was ordinary coverage that stopped short of calling the war a total victory, so the anger is out of proportion. The Pope post had the same shape: criticism of how he is handling Iran, answered as a personal injury.

He posted two endorsements at 5:11–5:12 PM (ts_116399450887993236, ts_116399455398170606). They read like staff drafts, except that the Idaho one works in "a place I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024!" The last post, at 7:04 PM (ts_116399897710782846), is a screenshot of Lee Zeldin quoting Tulsi Gabbard on a "deep state" plot to impeach him. That brings the day back to the grievance he twice reached for at 2:35 AM.

Shape of the day

Grandiosity dominates, and it never builds into a single climb. The anger comes at both ends: the Pope attack almost at the start, the NYT attack late on Monday afternoon. The state swings between them. It turns mixed when the Pope criticizes him, goes back to grandiose through the blockade posts, dips into vulnerability with the repeated impeachment link, turns mixed again after the WSJ ruling and the Times coverage, and ends vulnerable on the impeachment screenshot. The arc is mixed. There is triumph in the war posts, and injury from the Pope, the Journal and the Times, and neither side wins the day. Contradictions: "completely obliterated" versus the surviving "fast attack ships" in the same post; a Guardian link that calls the Swalwell complainant a "conspiracy theorist" alongside posts promoting the complaint; the WSJ "not a termination" framing against the court's dismissal; and "totally OBLITERATED" Iran against a blockade still needed to force a deal.

Cognitive markers: posting the same link twice in two minutes at 2:35 AM, a claim undone in the next sentence, and a routine sign-off on a declaration of war. His longer posts stayed coherent from Sunday night to Monday evening, so complexity looks stable. The concerns lie in judgment and register, and the syntax holds up.
