We should be doing everything we can to make it more affordable to buy a home. A just-released housing index reveals just how rough the market is, especially for first-time home buyers. It showed home prices for the nation's top 20 metro areas rose 5.4% from June of last year to June of this year. A record jump for that month. The average home buyer needs to make over $110,000 to afford the average home. Home buyers only needed to make $76,000 back in 2020. Mortgage rates are now at their highest level in 21 years. 86% of U.S. renters would like to buy, but they can't. That really speaks to a lot of pessimism here about the American dream, how it feels like it's out of reach. Home ownership remains the ticket to wealth generation. So this is just widening the gap between the haves and the have-nots. She stands there and says on day one she's going to tackle the housing affordability crisis in our country. But day one for Kamala was three and a half years ago. What the hell have you been doing for all that time?

And these examples, they're not fun to talk about, but they're the reality of what has happened when you defund ICE, when you reduce detention capacity, when you do not authorize criminal prosecutions for those that cross illegally, then these type of situations happen. And we see them play out, whether it's Lakin or Jocelyn or Rachel Morin or all the ones that have gone before her and continue to commit crimes across the country. It's just unbelievable. And I don't think it's going to work. I think the American people are going to see that she is not serious about this border security. Yeah, to be clear, this is where she has stood in the past with some of her perceived far left border policies. Watch and listen. You're confident this border is secure. We have a secure border. Raise your hand if you think it should be a civil offense rather than a crime to cross a border without documentation. Can we keep the hands up so we could see them? I think there's no question that we've got to critically re-examine ICE. I am in favor of saying that we're not going to treat people who are undocumented and cross the border as criminals. All right. So you're not a criminal. You're not here illegally if you cross illegally. Let's re-examine ICE, she said in a previous interview. Go back to 2022 where she insisted our border is secure. Well, tell that to Lake and Riley's family, who over that period of time, this man who was able to walk over the border, entered the country to then murder their daughter, their loved one. And then we learned that he had ties to this dangerous, brutal gang that is now popping up in American cities, Tren de Aragua. We had a councilwoman outside of Denver yesterday talking about how brutal it is getting for residents there. Here's that councilwoman on America Reports yesterday. This gang, they are marking their territory. They are putting up their gang related graffiti on the blocks, on the areas that they have taken over. One time I stepped out of my vehicle and an alert whistle. This is how they're communicating by whistling. An alert whistle happened and I very quickly had to get back in my car. They had people posted all around different properties, up and down different blocks. So to your point, Harris can now promise and vow to be tougher on the border considering all that has happened, but all that has happened has happened under her and Biden's watch. So will the American public, the voter, buy it, Chris? Well, I sure hope not because everything they're doing is just a complete gas line and misrepresentation of the facts on the ground. The TDA that said Venezuelan gang is not just localized to one area of the country. They are making their presence known all around America and that is a threat to all Americans. That's why I continue to say border security is national security and public safety for these reasons. We have an immigration issue we've got to deal with, but we cannot conflate those and that's what Harris has been doing and they're trying to spin everything to a softer tone about immigration as opposed to being really tough on the border security apparatus. Not only do the victims' families go talk to them, go talk to the border communities that had to deal with this on the front end. Yuma, Arizona, El Paso, El Eagle Pass, now San Diego, Rio Grande, all of these communities all across the south of the border have been hit with this with a large amount of people, the tax burden, the amount of money we were spending to handle this problem that could have been fixed on day one if it had just left things alone and built off of what we had started and listened to the men and women of the Border Patrol and ICE as opposed to demonizing them. So she's run away from ever having been the border czar, but in all those interviews she never refuted that claim and it wasn't until now when she's running for president. So the big news, of course, is that you and RFK Jr., now part of the transition team. What does it mean, Tulsi? I'm not saying you have to define your role, but I'm thinking, what does it mean for two independents to join the Trump transition team? Well, I think it speaks to the bigger point about what President Trump is doing here. He is showing that this election is not about Democrats versus Republicans. It's about voters having the choice between a president and Donald Trump, who stands for freedom and peace and prosperity for all Americans, versus Kamala Harris, who is a person who will certainly bring about an increasingly tyrannical government, more war, and economic hardship, the same economic hardship we've seen over the last three and a half years. And it's not about taking my word for it or an opinion or a view. Both of these candidates, President Trump and Vice President Harris, have two very real records to compare and contrast, and boy, they couldn't be different. This is the choice before voters rise above partisanship. President Trump is showing that he can bring people together who may not agree on every issue, but who value what is most important, which is protecting and defending our fundamental rights and freedoms that are enshrined in the Constitution and making it possible to live in a truly peaceful and prosperous society. It's interesting when you talk about Kamala Harris's record, because there's word now that you could be helping the former president with debate preparations. Of course, it's very well established that you pretty efficiently took down Kamala Harris in 2019. Is that something that you relish the opportunity to be able to help in that aspect? Well, I want to be helpful in whatever way that I possibly can, and if I can be helpful to President Trump at all. In this area, it really is just to share the experience that I had and what I learned in sharing that stage with Kamala Harris back in 2019, and quite frankly, the kinds of tricks that she will play in order to deflect away from her record, which voters need to know about, and the mainstream media, the propaganda media is trying to cover up. She will rehearse some lines and deliver them very well. President Trump knows the issues, and he knows her record, and I look forward to seeing him challenge her and expose the truth about who Kamala Harris really is. I wanted to get your take on a couple of hot issues. Among this Mark Zuckerberg letter, where he comes out saying, listen, admitting that the Biden-Harris administration pressured them during COVID-19 to censor, and he used the word censor, COVID-19 content, said the laptop was not disinformation. What do you think of that admission? It's coming. Well, first of all, it is what many of us have known all along, and I'm glad he had the courage to come forward and speak the truth, especially right now. And this is really important, Trace, because you have Kamala Harris who's building her whole campaign around freedom. This is her new mantra that she's repeating. She repeated it in her debate, in her speech at the Democratic Convention, that she's going to be a president who champions freedom. But the fact is, as Mark Zuckerberg just exposed, it is Harris and Joe Biden who got him and Facebook to do their dirty work in censoring our right to free speech. Once again, her words do not match her actions. So we got to turn down the volume on whatever it is she's saying, and just look at her record, because that tells us the whole story about why we should not allow her in the White House as our president. You know, one thing that ran through my mind as I was there, joining President Trump and honoring the ultimate sacrifice that these 13 service members paid, sharing the sorrow that these Gold Star families still feel and will always feel at the loss of their loved ones. Meanwhile, where is Kamala Harris? Where is Joe Biden? Well, Joe Biden's on vacation and Kamala Harris is running a campaign based on joy and vibes and laughing her way around. I can tell you who wasn't laughing were those families, some of the survivors of that attack in this disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. You know, Tulsi, a mother of one of the slain troops spoke out against Kamala Harris today. Take a listen. Vice President Harris is now running to be commander in chief. I wonder, do you have a message for her? You're with the whole administration in all of this. You hold the same accountability as President Biden does. You were right beside him in making these decisions. This administration has tried to sweep it under the rug and that's absolutely not going to work for this nation. You know, Tulsi, your response to that? You know, I want to know if Kamala Harris has personally called every one of these 13 families and the families of those who came home injured, there was a triple amputee there today there to honor the loss of his brothers and sisters. Has she called them to apologize, to apologize for the decision that they made that resulted in this disastrous withdrawal and an explosion and an attack that took these 13 service members' lives that was completely preventable? Kamala Harris is completely unfit to serve as our commander in chief. Voters, regardless of whether you're Democrats or Republicans, need to know that truth because that's really what this election is about, Judge. It's not about Democrats versus Republicans. It's about having a president who stands for freedom, peace and prosperity, which is Donald Trump, versus having a president in Kamala Harris who attacks our freedoms and censors us and uses political retaliation, who has pushed us to the brink of war and who's created this economic hardship for Americans across the country. That's really the choice that we have before us. And for me, as a service member, as a veteran, it's a very clear choice. I love our country. I cherish peace and freedom, and I'm supporting Donald Trump in this election so that he can be our commander in chief once again. You know, it's interesting, Tulsi. CNN today tried to attack Trump for attending the REITs ceremony. Take a listen. Is he politicizing these soldiers' deaths? Should he even be at Arlington National Cemetery if he's going to make some politics out of this? I just look at President Biden under whose leadership we actually ended and made the tough decision to end our nation's longest war. That was the right decision by President Biden. You know, I guess the question, Tulsi, should have been, why wasn't Biden in attendance as well? But I want to ask you, just four years ago, you were one of many Democrats running against Donald Trump. Today, you endorse Trump. Why? Like I said, I've just made the case. The choice in this election is very clear, and I'm confident that if elected as president again, Donald Trump, he has the strength in the backbone to stand up to the military-industrial complex and keep us out of these unnecessary wars of choice. I want to point back to that clip you just played. Let's remember that Joe Biden on that debate stage did not even remember that his decision resulted in the deaths of 13 of my brothers and sisters in uniform. Donald Trump this morning, he didn't have a big crowd out there at Arlington Cemetery. It was him standing and grieving with these Gold Star families for hours. This wasn't just a drive by photo op. He stayed with them for hours and helped to console them and thank them for their sacrifice that they have made for our great country. Was it emotional for the president? It was extremely emotional. It was extremely emotional for everyone who was there. It was groups of loved ones and family and friends. It was two survivors who were there at that attack at Abbey Gate in Kabul who came back, who were seriously injured now for the rest of their lives. It was such a powerful, powerful day. I'm grateful to have been there to offer my own sincere gratitude for their service and sacrifice. But it's so important that we have leaders who do this, who not just do it for a photo op, but actually express as President Trump did this morning. I saw it. I felt it. I experienced it, the sorrow that he felt for the great loss that not only these families have felt, but our country endures. Well, and he clearly didn't look at his watch as Joe Biden did. There's almost no legitimate legal purpose to Jack Smith bringing this superseding indictment at this point because the issues that were raised by the Supreme Court with the immunity ruling needed to be litigated by the trial judge anyway and they could have certainly done that with the existing indictment so this seems like a pure headline grab in my opinion during the heart of the campaign season. They want these headlines right? Absolutely, there's again no chance that this case is going to trial before the election there are still so many challenges that need to be looked at with this case and of course if Donald Trump is elected this could very well be Jack Smith's final act at all in these cases so I think that this was a last-ditch effort to bring this to the forefront of the headlines again. These cases get so confusing there's New York there was Florida there's DC there other states this in Georgia this is the one about J-6 correct? Yes this is what they consider the main election interference case the kind of big case that deals with the fake electors schemes and things along those lines but certainly there's a lot of acts in those charges that deal with the presidency and the official acts that may or may not have been undertaken there. So the Supreme Court recently ruled that presidential immunity for official acts so how do we define official acts would this have been an official act and is Jack Smith just trying to narrow it down and frame it differently? Well according to Jack Smith the super seeding indictment attempted to interpret the Supreme Court's decision to take out things that they believe would be objectionable I think even based on the face of the new indictment there are still many things that are not in line with the Supreme Court's decision and that's why there's going to be several more layers of review at the trial level and then all the way up potentially through the Supreme Court before this could even go forward. All right let's look at President Trump's campaign courtroom calendar last September 5th the judge determines how DC federal election interference case should move forward then on the 16th of September the judge decided whether to throw out the verdict against Trump in the hush money case on the 18th sentencing for New York versus Trump on the 26 arguments begin an appeal of the 450 million dollar civil fraud judgment against Trump and his business associates then on December 5th arguments began in the appeal for the Georgia state election interference case what do you think the average voter is thinking are they thinking enough is enough we're going after Hunter Biden we're going after Donald Trump let's just have an election. I think that people are probably getting very frustrated with what I would consider a lawfare these are especially in the Jack Smith cases very novel legal theories these are not legitimate crimes that we've ever seen charged before so certainly it seems like a direct attempt to interfere with the election which is so ironic in a case that is alleging that Donald Trump did the same thing I don't think that there's any sort of hiding the fact that this is purely for political purposes especially with regard to the j6 case so this will not go forward until after the election there's no possibility for that to happen even if it does withstand the scrutiny on appeal OK, Katie. And recently Kamala tried to change the rules at the last minute, requesting that the mics remain hot throughout the debate. She wanted to manufacture another I'm speaking. I'm speaking. Do you know I'm I'm speaking, which kind of went viral. If God forbid, Donald Trump ever interrupted her during a debate. But today on Truth Social, Donald Trump has agreed to the debate with the same rules that they originally agreed to. Jason Miller from the Trump campaign said the Harris campaign wanted to have a seated debate. She wanted cheat sheets. She wanted notes in front of her and hot mics the whole time. The opposite of everything she agreed to. Now, keep in mind, ABC News is openly hostile to former President Donald Trump and most Republicans. For example, you might recall here is ABC News reporter Rachel Scott with the very first question during Donald Trump's appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists. Take a look at this. Ask yourself, does it sound like journalism or a talk show host? I want to start by addressing the elephant in the room, sir. You have pushed false claims about some of your rivals from Nikki Haley to former President Barack Obama saying that they were not born in the United States, which is not true. You have told for Congresswoman Moon of Color, who were American citizens to go back to where they came from. You have used words like animal and rabbit to describe black district attorneys. You've attacked black journalists calling them a loser, saying the questions that they ask are, quote, stupid and racist. You've had dinner with a white supremacist at your Mar-a-Lago resort. So my question, sir, now that you are asking black supporters to vote for you, why should black voters trust you after you have used language like that? Well, first of all, I don't think I've ever been asked a question. So in such a horrible manner. First question. Trump wins the crowd over. Anyway, it gets worse. One of ABC News top so-called journalists, a former Clinton hack. We'll be talking a lot about him in the days to come. His name is Georgie Stephanopoulos. Take a look. Kamala Harris appears to be in the midst of an identity crisis since becoming the Democratic nominee. Almost all of her radical positions that she holds held so near and dear, you know, have seemingly changed, or at least that's what anonymous aides say behind closed doors. We don't know because she won't give a press conference or talk to anybody. For example, in 2019 she called Trump's border wall a medieval vanity project and even mocked the possibility of terrorists coming across our southern border. Now keep in mind, as you see this as the 11 million plus unvetted Harris, Biden illegal immigrants have come into the country. So have hundreds with terror ties. We don't know where they are. Take a look. This is a crisis of the president's own making to fulfill his quest to to build a vanity project called the wall. This is irresponsible. It's the height of irresponsibility for the commander in chief to suggest that we have to build a wall across our southern border because there are terrorists who are trying to invade the country. It couldn't be farther from the truth. The subject of transnational gangs. Let's be perfectly clear. The president's medieval vanity project is not going to stop them. You know, the height of irresponsibility is letting people in from 180 countries, unvetted, including Iran, Syria, Egypt, Afghanistan, Russia, China and Venezuela, including people with known terror ties. And we have no idea where they are. Oh, people with terror ties. Uh, that is the height of irresponsibility as the vice president and borders are, Kamala halted construction on the border wall, leaving huge gaps at our southern border. They told us for three years, the border is closed and secure. It's not, never has been all of a sudden. Well, the campaign aides say Kamala now wants to build the wall, a vanity wall, I guess. And she even features Trump's border wall at her campaign ads, as we showed you last night. And that's not all. Remember when she wanted to eliminate immigration, in other words, and customs enforcement, better known as ice that you also compared to the KKK. You might recall a lot of the signs at the rally you just held where people standing there saying abolish ice. Yeah. Is that a position that you agree with? Listen, I think there's no question that we've got to critically reexamine ice and its role and the way that it is being administered and the work it is doing. And we need to probably think about starting from scratch because there's a lot that is wrong with the way that it's conducting itself. And we need to deal with that. Anonymous aides say she no longer believes that it's not just the border. It's not just ice. During her first presidential campaign, Kamala also promised to eliminate private insurance member of Medicare for all government will take care of your health care. How's the post office working for you? Take a look. You support the Medicare for all bill, I think, initially co-sponsored by Senator Bernie Sanders. You're also a co-sponder on to I believe it will totally eliminate private insurance. So for people out there who like their insurance, they don't get to keep it. Let's move on. Well, forget your freedom and joy party wants to take away, let's see, your money to pay for college health care, housing for illegals. They want to take away your money and your ability and choice to have your own health care plan. They want to pay for a $93 trillion new green deal that she co-sponsored in the Senate, you know, and now she's saying she completely changed her mind. All right. Just for the sake of the campaign, I'll let you keep your private health insurance. We hear the same message about the new green deal. She introduced both these bills in the Senate that she cosponsored with Bernie Sanders and her plan to ban fracking and offshore drilling. Nevermind. It's a campaign year. I can't run on what I really believe. And her promise to reimagine public safety with fewer police and defund and dismantle no bail laws. The list of wild flipping, flopping, flailing goes on and on. But we don't really know where Kamala stands. Kamala won't say what she believes. We have her on tape saying all of these things. You just get whispers. She might have changed her mind. Nevermind. And that is a bad sign. It means her true beliefs are too radical for the general population and her campaign knows it. First, he really doesn't know who he's running against, because he spent about 100 million dollars running against Joe Biden. But now that she is the candidate, the biggest surprise with me is flip-flop phobia that she's experiencing right now, but she realized how popular Trump's issues are. She's going to be asked about all this flip-flop, so we're going to go through some of those right now. But really quickly, when you do an interview with one of these candidates, they tell you the campaign says, okay, you have 30 minutes. You have 40 minutes. So having someone by her side is going to divide the time, 50% will go to him, 50% will go to her. And they have a lot of explaining to do with his stolen valor lying about his rank, with the award from the Chamber of Commerce that he did not get. And they asked him to remove it off his hand, putting it in a boy's bathroom, his progressive policies. And then she's going to have to answer, which is why the interview should be separate. Some of the policy positions that apparently the campaign says have changed since we go back to 2019, she supported the Green New Deal, which included federal jobs guarantees. But the campaign says she no longer supports a federal job guarantee at this moment. >> That's right, when it comes to energy in 2019, she endorsed a nationwide ban on oil and gas fracking. And now, according to the campaign sources who have spoken to the New York Times and others, she does not support a total ban on fracking because, and the advisors didn't say this to the New York Times, but it's because half the country loves fracking and loves that idea. >> Probably more than half because it lowers our energy costs. >> It's relaxing. You have a frack just to get away? The other thing is Senator Murphy came out over a couple of weeks ago and he goes, you know, he or she flip-flopped on fracking, I think Shannon asked. And he goes, yeah, it's gotten a lot better. >> We've done it, fracking's made progress, so now suddenly, when was the last time you fracked? >> I was fracking over the weekend, yeah, I fracked like crazy. >> Yeah, frick and frack. >> Right? This is the most important election in the history of our country. I'm not a threat to democracy at all. It's been seven or eight weeks since Woodby Assassin fired eight rounds. How can you say it's luck when it's 20 million to one or that bullet could have missed? And has it changed you? Being president is a dangerous job. I never realized how dangerous. R.F.K. Jr. has offered his support to you and your campaign. Will he have a role in your administration? [Music] You are catching up with me in Las Vegas, Nevada, where I am catching up with former President Donald Trump and Republican nominee for president ten weeks from the actual election. We're going to sit down and talk about a lot of things as we close in on the day. We're going to talk about where he stands after having an attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania. We're going to talk about how he feels about now Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. We're going to talk about what he thinks the challenges are leading into this election and what has to happen to get independents to hear his message and come down on his side of the fence. We're going to ask him some hard questions and get some clear answers. Today, ten weeks from the election. Mr. President, thank you for sitting down with me again. Thank you. Very proud to be talking to you. You've been really busy and I have to ask you, it's been seven or eight weeks since Woodby Assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks climbed on top of a roof on a shockingly close building right in front of you and fired eight rounds from an AR-style assault rifle shooting you in the ear. Take a look at what happened. Experts said, frankly, you shouldn't be here right now. Experts said a kill shot was almost a certainty. But yet, here you sit, you had to have asked yourself, you had to have reflected on this, how am I here and why am I here? How do you answer that question? It's a very hard one to answer. When it happened, it was a whack. I mean, I said something's going on there. It was a real whack to the ear. But you're not thinking about that. And I was lucky I went down quickly because if I didn't go down quickly, bullets were coming right over my head when I was down. I heard them, they were moving along. They moved pretty fast. How fast does a bullet go? They said about 3,000 miles an hour. That's a lot. They gave it to me in feet, and then they gave it to me. I said, no, no, I want to know in miles per hour. And it's more than 3,000 miles an hour. And you hear the whipping sound. So I was lucky in that regard. But the big luck was because that's something you can control. You go down quickly. If you don't go down quickly, you have a problem. But the big thing was the turn. And it wasn't only the turn. It had to be a perfect 90-degree turn, or I wouldn't be with you today. And I had to be looking at something to the right. And the people, we had massive crowds, and they were in front. So there was no reason to be looking to the right. You had no people right or left. And you know the graph, my all-time favorite graph, showing my great numbers on immigration, stopping immigration virtually at the border, which is a big subject. And I was very proud of that graph, but I only use it about 20% of the time. It's always on my left, and it's always at the end of my speeches, always. And this was the very beginning of the speech. I mean, like the very beginning. It was on my right. So if you add it all up, it's like millions to one, millions to the odds. But I made that perfect turn. I just see it on television again. It's today, just before I came in. It's up big on the screen again today. And in finding out, you know, I have the endorsement of the NRA, but I don't know, I have no knowledge of guns like, as an example, I have two sons that have extreme knowledge, they're great shooters. And Don and Eric both told me separately that that's a guaranteed shot for a bad shooter from that distance. And 30 yards sounded like a long way away. As a shooter, that's a very close target. They said to relate it to me, they said it would be like sinking a one-foot pot. And I said, that's not good. So why were you spared? You've had to reflect on this alone, in the middle of the night, in the golf cart, riding down the way, thinking about it. How do you answer that? Why were you spared? So there had to be some great power. Because you just can't say millions to one, millions to one. I used to say a million to one. It's much more than that, because, again, you have to pull down the sign. There has to be a reason to go right, and never go right. There's no reason. And not only go right, it's for about an eighth of a second. It's not just right. Out of all the time that we're on this planet, it's one eighth of a second, right? So I shouldn't be with you. Is there a purpose? Is there a reason you think you were spared? I mean, the only thing I can think is that God loves our country, and he thinks we're going to bring our country back. He wants to bring it back. It's so bad right now, what's happening when you look at the crime, the horrible things that are happening inside our country. And it can be solved. It can be solved fairly quickly. It has to be God. It has to be the handicap. And today it's luck when it's, you know, 20 million to one, okay? I mean, it's just not possible that I was in that position. It's the only position where that bullet could have missed. And you believe in God? I do. I do. You believe God's hand was in this that day? I believe so, yeah. I do. And you talk about the country, you believe you have more to do. You weren't done. You were spared for a reason. Well, God believes that, I guess. We'll have to see. Number one, I'm in an election with a very vicious group of people. I won the election against Biden. I was up by 17 or 18 points after the debate. And they said, you know what, he's going to lose. They went and told him he's going to lose, and we're going to change you out. And he said, no, I'm not going to do it. In fact, he said only God will change me. But so who knows what happened there? But he said, I'm not leaving. He got 14 million votes, and Kamala got done zero. She ran against him. She got zero. She never made it to Iowa, which is the first state. And here she is. She's on the other side. But, you know, it's like nobody ever had this before. You have an opponent. In politics, you have an opponent, and you win or you lose. But you don't have an opponent, and then you're doing well against the opponent. They take them out. They give you a new opponent. They give you a nice, fresh opponent. And so I have to win that. And if I win that, that would really serve to say that there's some incredible power up there that wanted me to be involved in saving. And maybe it's more than saving the nation. Maybe it's saving the world. You know, I get along with all those tough guys. And Russia wouldn't have gone into Ukraine. You'd have a million people living right now. You'd have cities all over Ukraine. I mean, these magnificent cities with the domes and the golden domes and towers, they'd all be up. They're right now demolished. So many cities, the country is just demolished. Israel wouldn't have happened. October 7th would have never happened. Iran was broke with me. And I don't want them to be broke, but I don't want them to have a nuclear weapon. So you think you're meant to take those challenges on. You're meant to serve in that way. I don't know. I mean, I don't know. In thinking about it, it's beyond any of us, I guess, to really know that. But I can say that for that bullet to have gone along this path right here and for that bullet to have gone along that path and hit the top of my ear as opposed to any other place would have been no good. And it traveled that path for a long way, relatively speaking. That path was traveled for a long way. It killed a man behind you. It did. It killed a man. Corey Comperatore and it critically injured two others. Who thought they weren't going to make it? You know, the doctors said they will not make it, and they did. The doctors were incredible. You've been very attentive and involved with those families. And I understand a lot of support and help for those families. It's taken place. Well, we gave a friend of mine who's a pretty rich guy, was very moved by what happened. And he said, do you mind if I give Corey? He called him Corey. Everyone calls him Corey now. Firefighter, great firefighter, fire chief of a small town. Volunteer, right? Volunteer. No substantial money, obviously. You know, they live comfortably. They love each other. They have a great family, a beautiful family, actually, but not money. And I said, good. What do you want to give? He said a million dollars. He wrote out a check right in front of me for a million dollars, and we presented it to the wife. That's more money than they have ever even thought about. On top of that, we raised close to $6 million in GoFundMe. And that's going to be split up. We're doing it now, obviously, with Corey's family getting more. The other two made it, and they're going to be in good shape. I can't stress how good those doctors were. It was going to be three dead, and it turned out to be one. But they were hit hard. And they just -- I mean, they just made it. They were very close also. And so they're going to be getting probably close to a million and a half dollars each. How'd you feel about the Secret Service and the job they did? Well, I -- look, they were very brave, because when those bullets were coming at me and you saw it, I was down, because I went down quickly, fortunately. Otherwise -- because the bullets were going right over my head. So that was another thing. But see, I don't talk about that as -- that was a question of going down. The other was a question of you had to be in an exact, perfect position, and it's almost impossible to have achieved that position. You have to be right. You have to have used the graph. The whole thing is just so crazy. You never use it at the beginning of the speech. Never. I've never used it at the beginning. I just said, "Pull down the graph." And I look over at the graph, and I get whacked, sort of like a bolting deer. My son, Don, said, "It's like a bolting deer. Great shots can miss a bolting deer." They shoot simultaneously with the deer bolting, and it bolts for some reason. I guess that was my bolt. But it was -- it was absolutely amazing. But the Secret Service, obviously somebody should have been under the roof. You can't -- the roof was empty. And there was a lack of communication between local law enforcement and Secret Service. It seems to be coming out. So they're going to have to work that out. I can say this. On stage, we had great bravery, because bullets were coming at me, and they were coming right on top of me. And within about three or four seconds, I was covered with bodies. Had the sniper -- the Secret Service sniper -- and it may have been somebody else in addition. It may have been a local police shot also. I don't know. But had that shot not been made from a long distance, much longer, and hit its target, one bullet, then they would have been dead, probably, because there would have been a pile, and he would have been shooting into the pile. And in addition, you would have had a lot of people killed. This could have been like that Las Vegas disaster, where that horrible human being killed a lot of people at a concert. Has this changed you? Has it changed your appreciation for life? Has it changed anything about you? Did you hug your kids extra hard? I mean, has it changed you? A lot of people ask me, and a lot of people say, "Look, have you developed any fear of, you know, doing this?" Because you're -- look, being President is a dangerous job. It's much more dangerous than a race car driver than anything. It's probably the most dangerous profession, if you think about it. Just go up and down the list. So you have 46, and numerous left early or got hit. It's a very dangerous job. It's a -- I never realized how dangerous. But I was at the border yesterday, and they were a dangerous place. He allowed it. They -- he and her allowed it to become dangerous. It's a very, very dangerous place. I was doing an interview in Secret Service that said, "Sir, please, no more standing up." They don't want me to stand up. You know, people, especially with the kind of weapons they have today, that people have shots, and -- but it is. It's an interesting -- it's a great job. It's an interesting job. You can do so much good, but it's a dangerous job.
