A templated re-election endorsement, one in a batch of Florida House slates

This is one of at least six Florida congressional endorsements posted on 2026-10-30, running in district order (FL-17 here, beside FL-18, FL-19, FL-21, FL-22 and FL-25 in the prior posts). The Steube text matches the Scott Franklin (FL-18) post almost clause for clause. Both say the candidate "knows the Wisdom and Courage that is required to Defend our Country, Support our [incredible/Incredible] Military/Veterans," and both list the same issues in the same order: "Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A." Only the biographical slot changes: "A Former Captain of the U.S. Army JAG Corps" here, "A U.S. Naval Academy Graduate and retired Navy Commander" for Franklin. The post was filled in from a form, so it says little about the subject's state on the day. What it does show is that the operation sorts candidates into incumbent and challenger versions of the template.

The text has none of his spontaneous markers. Nothing drifts into grievance, nothing reacts to television, and there are no homophone or preposition errors. The issue list is long and evenly parallel, and the closing signature "President DONALD J. TRUMP" puts his name in the third person. The capitalization ("Great People," "Wisdom and Courage," "Champion Small Business") is the house style of his endorsement staff. Its regularity marks it as stylized and copied from post to post, which separates it from his own capitals in emotional bursts. The one phrase that breaks the parallel rhythm, "our always under siege Second Amendment," is also stock template wording. What the template does psychologically

There is no trigger in the narcissistic sense. The post keeps a patronage network running before the midterms. Its one personal signal is the endorser's power: "Greg Steube has my Complete and Total Endorsement" makes the candidate's standing depend on the patron's approval. The incumbent version leaves out the opponent attack that the challenger posts in this batch carry. The Singer and Askar posts name their opponents and coin "Dumocrats," while this one has no contrasting other. That absence matters: devaluation and splitting show up in the challenger posts and are missing here, so the post reads as pure idealization of an ally ("tremendous," "HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!"). The guarantee in the closing line is the one hyperbolic overreach, a promise of future loyalty that nobody could keep.
