Post from Truth Social

A recruitment montage between midterm attack links

The post is a captionless video. It intercuts the oath of enlistment ("Raise your right hand and repeat after me," "do solemnly swear," "bear true faith and allegiance," "So help me God") with news-style clips about recruiting: "The military recruiting has reached its highest level in decades," "All five branches already exceeding their recruitment goals for the year," "The U.S. Navy reaches its recruiting goal for fiscal year 2026," "The recruitment numbers are through the roof." It closes on "Congratulations" and applause. The music bed and even pacing point to a White House or campaign production; nothing marks it as his own work.

Because none of these words are his, the behavior under analysis is the edit he chose to amplify. The clip fuses a civic ritual with a performance claim and writes him into the ritual. The real oath has recruits swear to obey "the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me." The montage instead drops in a separate line, "Led by the President of the United States," before cutting to "Appointed over me." The transcript is too fragmentary to read the splice word by word, but the effect is plain: an oath sworn to the Constitution comes out sounding like allegiance under him, and "We're setting every record every month for recruitment" is placed so the rebound reads as his doing. Institutional pride is collected as personal credit.

Placement in the day's feed

The same afternoon's feed was harsh: Gregg Jarrett on Ilhan Omar facing "indictment, denaturalization and deportation," a Reuters headline on his warning that the US will "burn" like France if Democrats win, "Gender Fluidity Fuels James Transarico," and an attack on Abdul El-Sayed. Against that run, the video is the positive half of a split campaign message eight days before the midterms. Opponents are cast as threats to the nation, while the military, a high-trust institution, is presented as flourishing under him. The splitting shows in the arrangement of the feed rather than inside the clip, which has no enemy in it. The archetype on display is the King, receiving the oath. The order-restorer frame is implied: the rebound is offered as proof that order has returned.

Psychological reading

The post is supply-seeking and maintenance. The trigger is ordinary campaign need, and no injury is visible in the clip. Grandiosity runs through the edit (presidential leadership as the cause of a multi-year recruiting trend), but the clip contains no rage, no target and no grievance, which rules out reading it as a counterattack. The defense on display is mild idealization of his own role, with rationalization implicit in crediting an outcome with several causes to a single leader. It offers no evidence about cognition: he speaks no words and there is nothing to measure.

The recruiting claims, as amplified

The clip's assertions belong to its speakers, so they are discussed here and left out of the fact checks. The underlying trend is real. After shortfalls in FY2022-2023, every service met its FY2025 goal, several of them early. Claims that FY2026 goals were met are consistent with that trajectory. "Highest level in decades" and "every record every month" are stronger than the public data, which shows recovery to goal, not record totals. Analysts also credit pay raises, expanded prep courses, relaxed screening and a softer labor market alongside any change in administration. By posting the clip he endorses the strongest version of the claim and the single-cause attribution.

Authorship and timing

The post went up at 20:39 UTC, 4:39 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, during a campaign stretch with rallies in Kansas and elsewhere. A finished, produced video at mid-afternoon fits the staff-curated posting stream seen in the day's earlier link shares. With no text, the attribution concerns who chose to post it, and the evidence favors a staffer modestly.
