Then once in our country police say he allegedly attacked a 9 year-old girl and her mother in a Los Angeles home invasion in March 2023 authorities were able to link DNA samples from that Los Angeles assault to more ins August 2023 murder where this surveillance video from that la home gave investigators their first images of the unknown perpetrator police were able to identify the man after tracing that DNA sample to his family members in El Salvador and on Friday police were able to track him down and arrest him in Oklahoma. The sheriff there in the county didn't hesitate to blame Moore's murder on the crisis at the southern border. >> We're 1800 miles away from the southern border and the American citizens are not safe because of failed immigration policies. This is the second time in just 2 years that an innocent Harford County woman has lost her life to a criminal in our country illegally in both cases, they're suspects from El Salvador with ties to criminal gangs should not be happening. >> And the Maryland governor Larry Hogan released this statement saying in part quote this should be yet another wake-up call to stop letting politics get in the way of public safety and act to make sure violent criminals do not come into our country and are taking off our streets.
