He has been back and forth and back and forth to Europe and the Middle East. He's the U.S. Special Envoy, Steve Whitkoff. He's spent more time with these leaders in the Middle East, Europe, and Putin himself than any other American. Steve, thank you for being with us. Thank you for the good work you're doing. I would argue that we are on the precipice of a really good peace deal in the Middle East. You have spent a lot of time with Putin. If you had to add up the hours, what would it be? Probably close to 24 or 25 hours, Sean, of personal time with him and with some of his other people, Yuri Ushikov, Sergei Lavrov, approximately 24 or 25 hours. I don't want to get into... I have my own thoughts on Vladimir Putin. They're not very complimentary. It's neither here nor there. Joe Biden called him every name of the book, but he never picked up a phone and called him. Here's the main question. Putting aside what your personal thoughts on him will be, do you believe this piece is attainable and is it because of what Donald Trump did by convincing the EU to buy our oil, by putting tariffs on India, by arming Ukraine and upping the anti-wood NATO? Is that the reason why Putin finally came to the table or did he really want peace? Those are all the reasons, Sean. The president, and me and you have discussed it, has this uncanny ability to bend people to his sensible way of thinking. He does it each and every time. I've never seen anything quite like it, and I've been around some master deal makers. He is the legend, as far as I'm concerned. His policy prescriptions are so pragmatic, so sensible, and in a distorted world, he's recalibrating it all. It's simply remarkable. Every single leader that I've met in my travels, Sean, they say the same thing as I do. Every single one of them. You were in the room in Alaska, the very room that I ended up interviewing President Trump in. You were there with him and Vladimir Putin. You were in the room with NATO leaders and European leaders and Zelensky. If you can, to the extent that you can, bring us in that room in Alaska and bring us in the room in the White House yesterday. Well, I don't want to delve into the specifics of what was discussed, because we're in a negotiation mediating, and I think we're going to be very successful because of the leadership of President Trump, but there were concessions almost immediately made on the part of the Russians in the first meeting in Alaska, and part of getting those concessions was learning whether we were going to be able to see the Russians prepared to be more accommodating, and it was clear. That's a bit of intelligence that's really important for us to see, and the president fleshed that out almost immediately, and that's what led to the length of the meeting. We stayed there for quite some time because we actually made progress on how we might get to a peace deal. You know, a ceasefire deal is very, very easy to break because it doesn't have all the ingredients attached to it. A peace deal is much more different. It's sturdy, and the president began to sense in this meeting in Alaska that we had a lot of the precursors agree to for a peace deal, so why not pursue an entire peace deal? And of course, in this sort of nutty world, he got criticized for that. I sat and watched it and marveled at it, to tell you the truth. Well, I mean, if the dog bites at the beast things and you're feeling sad, Steve, there's a group of people in this country that will blame Donald Trump for all the above. Let's talk about the conventional wisdom is land swaps for security guarantees. I don't really see any other possible deal than that myself, looking at a potential outcome. Maybe not the deal I'd write down on paper, but a deal that's doable. Anything you can comment regarding that? Look, the president, Sean, has said that the Ukrainians actually can make a peace deal if they want to. But we're not suggesting that they they have to take it. The president has also said it's going to be for President Zelensky to make that judgment call. And I think that judgment call is all going to be it's going to begin with security guarantees. They want to make sure that this can never happen again to them. And that's exactly how they ought to be thinking. So but it's our job to bring the parties together, to narrow the issues. And that's what that's what President Trump does better than anybody. He he he's got a he's got a real sense. I mean, it is on. He's got a real sense of what it's going to take for Ukraine to meet in the middle and to move the Russians. And he accomplished that in two back to back meetings. And I I like I was I watched in what I watched in wonderment, to tell you the truth, because it was his show. It looks like that were closer to peace, a final piece in the Middle East. The president said that Hamas had to be wiped out. They were given every opportunity to turn the hostages over. Where does that stand? Well, look at what happened, by the way, three weeks ago, that proposal was on the table and they slow played us Hamas. And the president put out his truth statement saying that he wasn't going to tolerate it anymore. And guess what happened? There's been a major break. They've issued the announcement and they've said they want they want a peace deal. Now, the president has been has been very decisive and straightforward in his truth. He wants all the hostages back. And that is the position that we have. We want all the hostages back. That conflict should end immediately. Twenty hostages should be returned to their families, a commencement or commensurate amount of Palestinian prisoners to be released as well. And just let's end that thing and and bring peace and solitude to the Gaza people and rebuild Gaza as it should be rebuilt, as the president has set forth. I wish you and the president every success. As you know, President Trump trying to broker yet another peace deal, but rather than applaud the push for peace, the far left media is attacking the president. I believe that the humiliation for the United States, the loss of credibility and reputation yesterday in Alaska was much worse than the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. That meeting was a disaster, it was an embarrassment for the United States, it was a failure. Putin got everything he wanted, I mean first of all he wanted that photo op, right? Vladimir Putin got out of this summit meeting, it was not only the nice photo op on the red carpet and in the presidential limousine, what he got out of it was essentially a free pass to continue the war for an indefinite amount of time. Well that Chris Murphy is a walking soundbite for his party, never off message no matter what happens. Now what they do ignore clearly is that under the Biden administration there was no end in sight for the war at all, but even as President Trump prepares to meet with Vladimir Zelensky and European leaders tomorrow at the White House, at least there is some hope that maybe, maybe the war might end sometime soon. You know Katie, I mentioned Murphy because this is the thing about Democrats, if nothing else they are disciplined, they stay on message, you rarely see anybody stray off the reservation because they know they have a talking point and they will run with that talking point no matter what. Even in spite of the fact that we're all out here, we can see with our own eyes the President's trying to make something happen. Yeah, the freak out over this from Democrats is just an indictment of their own failures when it comes to the politicians they supported and the issue of Ukraine. So Barack Obama loses Crimea under his watch to Russia, Putin invades and takes Crimea with Joe Biden as the Vice President. Then you have Joe Biden with the Ukraine portfolio saying they can't join NATO because Ukraine is too corrupt, too corrupt, too corrupt while his family then goes and engages in the very corruption that's preventing Ukraine from joining NATO which would have prevented them from being engaged, invaded by Russia. Then you have Putin invading when President Joe Biden comes into office and we have this horrific war that is now lasting almost four years. They own all of that whereas President Trump is the one during his first term who sent them javelins instead of blankets. He's sending them negotiations instead of allowing Russia to continue leading Russians and Ukrainians to a slaughter by threatening Putin with sanctions that would continue to cripple his economy after he's already squeezed them on so many ways. India sanctions, the EU deal with $750 billion in energy that they buy from the United States. So they're freaking out because the President is getting results here and they don't want to talk about their record when it comes to Russia and Ukraine because it's a very, very poor one that Putin is winning. Especially if he can push this over the finish line, Anita, any expectation for anything big this week? What do you think? Well, you know, I think, look, he got to a meeting. Yeah. Which was part of the goal. Right. And to Katie's point, the last time President Biden met with Putin was in December of 2021 during a Russia-U.S. summit. Now, he tried to get a meeting with Putin after the war had started. Couldn't get one. Putin said no. Yeah. So at least President Trump got to first base. You know, if you look at this, Biden struck out, right? We all hope for the best and Zelensky will be at that meeting and he will put his two cents in and see what he thinks. But all these people criticizing it, "Oh, Putin got everything he wanted," no one got anything yet. Yeah. You know? It's still going on, Jason. I mean, let's be honest. It's easy for the mockingbirds to say, "Oh, look at the optics," to say any other, "I don't care about the optics. I care about results." And I think that's the position the White House would take right now. Well, I think Katie did a good job of laying out how devastating had it been under Obama and under Biden. Yeah. I mean, and I heard this Democrat and I had to watch the tape a second time saying, "Oh, this, me," you know, the idea that Donald Trump met with Putin was worse than Americans dying on the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Are you kidding me? They are so, they're so disrespectful of our United States military, where you have literally all of these people who've lost their lives and the botched withdrawal, and you're comparing that? That is just absurd. Look, Donald Trump has given us the best chance for peace that we have seen yet, and he's doing everything he possibly can. This game isn't over yet. The United States of America is the military and the economic superpower, and as we've been talking about, Kevin, you, me, the superpower card can be played in shutting Russia down to make them a third world country, essentially. So don't think that Donald Trump is just rolling over. He's doing more to create peace in this world, as exemplified by the six, seven other wars that he got rid of, that creating a chance for peace, real lasting peace in Ukraine. Yeah, go ahead. I wonder what the parents of those US soldiers who were killed in the Afghanistan withdrawal think, when they hear something like that, that this meeting was worse than the withdrawal. It is such a slap in the face. Yeah, it's just the indignity of it is beyond the pale.

I think it's so terrible when you say, well, she has fifteen hundred people, a thousand people, and they talk about, oh, the enthusiasm. Let me tell you, we have the enthusiasm. The Republican Party and me as a candidate, but the Republican Party has the enthusiasm because people want to see crime stopped. They want to see a country that's respected. Think of it. If I were president, you wouldn't have Russia and Ukraine where it never happened. Zero chance. You wouldn't have had October 7th of Israel. You wouldn't have the horrible withdrawal. And I don't mean the withdrawal because the withdrawal was fine. I was ready to withdraw from Afghanistan and we were going to do it with dignity and strength. And we were going to we were keeping our equipment. We weren't leaving eighty five billion dollars worth of equipment behind it. We wouldn't have had thirteen great soldiers. I know the families of those soldiers. Well, we wouldn't have had your soldiers killed and we wouldn't have had forty five forty five soldiers obliterated. No legs, no arms, the face. None of that would have happened. And you wouldn't have had inflation. You wouldn't have had any inflation because inflation was caused by their bad energy problems. Now they've gone back to the Trump thing because they need the votes. They you know, I don't know if you know, they're drilling now because they had to go back because gasoline was going up to seven, eight, nine dollars a barrel. So they said we better do what Trump. But the day after the election, if they won, you're going to have fuel prices go through the roof. Everybody's going to be forced to buy an electric car, which they're not going to do because they don't want that. It's got a great market. It's got a market. It's really a sub market. People want gasoline propelled cars. They want hybrids. They want to have everything and they want electric. But they want everybody to have an electric car. We don't have enough electricity. We couldn't make enough electricity for that. And you know what else? The weight of a car, the weight of a truck. They want all trucks to be electric. Little things that a lot of people don't talk about. The weight of a truck is two and a half times two and a half times heavier. You would have to rebuild every bridge in this country if you were going to do this ridiculous policy. So but on crowd size in history for any country, nobody's had crowds like I have. And you know that. And when she gets a thousand people and everybody starts jumping, you know that if I had a thousand people would say people would say that's the end of his campaign. I have hundreds of thousands of people in South Carolina. I had eighty eight thousand people in Alabama. I had sixty eight thousand people. Nobody says about crowd size with me. But she has a thousand people or fifteen hundred people and they say, oh, the enthusiasm's back. No, no. The enthusiasm is with me and the Republican Party because they want to stop crime. They want to stop people from pouring into our country from places unknown and from countries unknown from countries that nobody ever heard of. That's where the enthusiasm.

We had the best level of numbers, nobody's ever had numbers like the best we've ever had in terms of illegal immigration. In fact, my last week in office, we had less people coming into our country than at any time before. But importantly, we also had drugs were down 19%, 20% and that's not enough. And by the way, you'll never really solve the drug problem unless you do what other countries do and that's the death penalty for drug dealers. But then you have the death a drug dealer on average will kill during that person's life 500 people, unless you have a death penalty unless there's a something that they're right now they don't even get charged with anything. If you don't institute the death penalty for drug dealers, you'll never solve that problem. You'll get it down to a number that like I get it down. Actually at one point it was 22% down. That was a good thing, but you'll never solve the problem. We set up committees, we set up all of this. The cartels are are run by very smart, very vicious people. They're pouring drugs into our country. Now the number coming in now compared to four years ago is 12 times higher drugs. So it's not only people, it's not only human trafficking, it's drugs, the drugs are pouring into our country totally unchecked.
