From Greg Wischer at the United States Department of the Interior: “The National Park Service has beautified the Dante Memorial Statue in Meridian Park in Washington, D.C. The statue depicts the Italian poet Dante Aligheri holding his most well-known work, ‘The Divine Comedy,’ which was finished in 1321. The statue was cleaned and waxed.”
