What the image shows
A side-by-side comparison of two vintage MAD magazine covers, each priced 25¢ and framed with an ornate reddish-brown scrollwork border containing small caricature faces. Both covers feature the gap-toothed, jug-eared Alfred E. Neuman character in a suit with a red bow tie, painted against a blue background with two snarling wolf heads at upper left. The left cover (No. 100, Dec. '66) shows an older, more adult-looking, slicked-back-haired version of the character. The right cover (No. 76, Dec. '60) shows the classic freckle-faced, tousle-haired boy version of Alfred E. Neuman.
