He had the vice president there. You had the secretary of defense there. You had the CIA director there. You had Stephen Miller there. You had Dan Scavino there. You had Susie Wohauz there. You talk about an all-star team, and they were all talking and working together, and really pulling together. So I think what we're going to do is we're going to head to technical talks. That's a term where you actually have the talks from both sides sitting down until we get to a comprehensive ceasefire, which leads you to a peace treaty. And we're only at day 58, and he's driven that. And the talks today were exceptional.

So, John, you have a piece out today that you say this trial has already affected, essentially, the office of the presidency. And you suggest that there may need to be some pushing back, you say, from the other side of the aisle. But do you worry now that we've kind of crossed a line at which politics has always been difficult, but much more of a blood sport? And do you worry that our legal process is being pulled into that and, you know, the idea that both sides should consider using that as a weapon? Yes, Shannon, I think for all of us, all of us Americans, it's not as important what happens to President Trump as a person. What's important is what happens to the presidency in our constitutional system. What does this mean for future presidents? And the weaker that these cases are, the weaker that brags cases, the weaker that Michonne allows a case like this to go forward and get to the jury, the bigger the door is open for any D.A. in the future to bring charges against the president from the opposite party that they don't like. That kind of harassment of presidents is going to cause them to worry about their legal liability when what they should be doing is focusing on making the toughest decisions on behalf of the American people, on behalf of protecting the country. And so, yes, I really do worry. And I think that the only way to put a stop to this, sadly, is for some Republican D.A.s to prosecute Democratic office holders, Democratic executive branch officials, Hunter Biden, maybe even Joe Biden. That's the only way, I think, to put a stop to this. Otherwise, what we've seen is the crossing of a constitutional Rubicon where suing presidential predecessors is going to just be the norm. Well, and so much of what you had to say in that answer, John, touches on those immunity arguments we had at the Supreme Court about the possibility that an incumbent who is running again or loses and worries about what is going to come from his predecessor, we'll have to see it because we wait on the Supreme Court for that decision. Political campaigns are traditionally staged at rallies, town halls, even small-town diners. Local politicking where the candidate shakes hands, kisses babies, and persuades voters. Not this year. Biden's campaign's called a lid because-- why campaign when you're arresting your rival? Donald Trump in court today facing a financial assassination attempt. The former president asked Judge Nudy to delay closing arguments so he could mourn the passing of Melania's mother. Judge Nudy said no. And barred him from making a closing argument. Seems totally fair. And Trump's tormentor, New York Attorney General Letitia James, was all smiles. She brought a case that's never been tried in New York's 400-year history. No jury, no victim, and the defendant wasn't allowed to speak. I wonder where a case like this came from. It's a witch hunt in the truest sense of the word. It's election interference. And it just came out. This was just-- right now, Letitia James visited Joe Biden in the White House numerous times during the Trump witch hunt. It's all a conspiracy to try and get Biden, who can't put two sentences together, trying to get him into office. That just broke. The White House has now confirmed the prime time that Letitia James visited the White House not once, not twice, three times. Before she sued the president, while she was suing the president, and then once to see Kamala. But it's not just Letitia James in New York with the conspiracy with Biden. We're learning that district attorney Fannie Willis in Georgia also visited the White House, partied with Kamala and others. And the week after, the giggly wicken, the grand jury's wacky forewoman, recommended charges against Donald Trump. You know Fannie. The DA who appointed the man, she was diddling to prosecute Trump. Loverboy had never tried a felony. So Fannie handed him almost $1 million in taxpayer cash and said, go get him. And Loverboy took the cash and then took Fannie on steamy Caribbean cruises. Fannie's Loverboy also conspiring with the White House, holding long meetings with the White House council, even billing them. And when Fannie wasn't getting sexual kickbacks and colluding with Biden's White House, she had Adam Schiff on speed dial. Fannie was working with Adam Schiff in the January 6th case to build the Georgia prosecution. You remember the January 6 committee that banned Republicans from joining and then destroyed all the evidence they collected? It's almost as if Biden's running the Trump prosecutions from the White House. -My legal issues, every one of them, every one, civil and the criminal ones, are all set up by Joe Biden, crooked Joe Biden. Every time somebody sees me in court, I remember Joe Biden and his thugs that surround him did it. -All cases against Trump brought after he announced, all cases brought by Democrat prosecutors. But Biden assists. His political rival is being prosecuted independently. -I have never once, not one single time, suggested the Justice Department what they should do or not do rather than bring it to charge and not bring it to charge. I'm honest. Now, when you have to insist, you're honest, you're lying. I have kids, trust me. Every single one of Trump's prosecutions leads directly back to Biden. It's political law fair, and Biden's the general. But the media says Biden's clean, and Trump wants to be nailed to the cross. Listen. -There is no campaign without the court. He has made this, these legal issues, all the charges, the indictments, the centerpiece of his campaign because he doesn't want to be talking about policy. -It's got to be part of the campaign. He is portraying himself as the victim, the victim of a witch hunt, the victim of political persecution by Joe Biden, all lies. It's part of this narrative he builds around himself where he's like a Christ-like figure, a martyr. -What politician doesn't love being mugshotted and framed with felonies? I'm surprised all candidates haven't tried to get arrested so they don't have to fly to Iowa. It's cold. But in between kangaroo court hearings, Trump's flying to Iowa at last night's Fox Town Hall. I expected the president to be fuming. Biden judges are accusing him of having an assassination fetish. I'd expect he'd want retribution. He doesn't. -I'm not gonna have time for retribution. We're gonna make this country so successful again. I'm not gonna have time for retribution. And remember this -- our ultimate retribution is success. -That's a great answer. But maybe we could find time for a little retribution. Maybe make time for me, for us. I mean, the media said Trump likes trial by courtroom, so he doesn't have to talk policy. But last night, he talked policy for the whole hour. -Biden drove up the cost of energy. That's what caused inflation, but it's also what caused Putin to become rich enough to go and prosecute a war. By the way, Iran was broke. Iran was broke. I said to China, "If you buy oil from Iran, you're not dealing in here." Energy is so big, it's such a big deal, that when energy goes up, if you make donuts, if you make hamburgers, if you -- Anything you do, you have trucks that deliver your product, you have to heat your stoves, your ovens. Anything you do, it's all energy. They should vote for me, because I'm gonna cut their energy price in half. -That's the difference between the Trump and the Biden campaign. Trump's making his campaign about you, and Biden's making his campaign about Trump. He has to, because he can't run on his record. -I took in $400 billion in tariffs and taxes from China, and one of the reasons China's not doing so well today is because of those tariffs. -And Biden wants to cut him. You know, he got paid off by China, after all, so he wants to help the people that gave him a lot of money. But he's a Manchurian candidate, in the true sense. He got money from China, got money from Russia. -What's really going on here is this. Biden's trying to keep Trump in court so he can't talk about policy, because Trump's policies are popular. They brought us peace and prosperity. He wants to keep Trump in court so he can't talk about the Biden bribery scandal. He wants to keep Trump in court so that Trump talks about Trump. So, as long as Trump talks about Biden, policy, and you, this election is a lock.

Next, your thoughts on this? This indictment strikes me as an amateurish joke. Frankly, Jack Smith, a special counsel, should be indicted for stupidity. It's that bad. But he has this disreputable habit of bringing politically driven prosecutions by contorting the law and mangling the evidence. And, you know, these four counts are the definition of a stretch. It's a Gumby indictment, conspiracy to defraud the government because Trump challenged certification of electors on January 6th. Well, he's entitled to do that under the Electoral Count Act. Democrats did the same thing in 2016 and in prior elections. Nor is it a crime to claim the election was stolen, which Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi alleged four years earlier. And the main point is if Donald Trump truly believed he won, even if he was wrong about it and he used the legal process to contest the outcome as the law clearly permits, that is not election fraud. And then Smith tosses in obstruction charge, conspiracy charge. Those are redundant of the first charge and the exact same defense applies. So, you know, this is a junk indictment and it's politically motivated.
