I am pleased to nominate Mark R. Meador to be a Commissioner on the Federal Trade Commission. Mark Meador is a partner at Kressin Meador Powers LLC, a boutique antitrust law firm. He previously served as Deputy Chief Counsel for Antitrust and Competition Policy to Senator Mike Lee, the senior Republican on the Senate Judiciary Antitrust Subcommittee. Mark has also worked as an antitrust enforcer at both the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, and in private practice at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. He received his undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Chicago, and his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. Congratulations Mark!

I am pleased to nominate Gail Slater as Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division at the Department of Justice. Big Tech has run wild for years, stifling competition in our most innovative sector and, as we all know, using its market power to crack down on the rights of so many Americans, as well as those of Little Tech! I was proud to fight these abuses in my First Term, and our Department of Justice’s antitrust team will continue that work under Gail’s leadership. Gail previously served at the FTC, in my National Economic Council and, most recently, advising Vice President-Elect JD Vance in his Senate office. Gail has also worked in the private sector, in Media at FOX, and in the Tech sector at Roku. In her new role, Gail will help ensure that our competition laws are enforced, both vigorously and FAIRLY, with clear rules that facilitate, rather than stifle, the ingenuity of our greatest companies. Congratulations Gail - Together, we will Make America Competitive Again!

Whether you like Amazon or not, how can the Federal Trade Commission sue to break it up? Are they going to deliver to half a Country, or one third of the World, letting some other company do the rest. Wouldn’t a company like that have to be unified. It certainly can’t be done only by region! Just askin’?

American Cable Association has big problems with Comcast. They say that Comcast routinely violates Antitrust Laws. “These guys are acting much worse, and have much more potential for damage to consumers, than anything AT&T-Time Warner would do.” Charlie Gasparino

I believe in free markets but allowing a merger of US Air & American Airlines is totally ridiculous! Will control most of US market.

If US Air and American Airlines are allowed to merge, we are back to the days of “monopoly.”
