Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth: "All I ever wanted when I was in combat was to know that my Commander had my back no matter what. Donald J. Trump, that Commander, has your back and that means something to the men and women of America. That's why we're seeing a record surge in recruiting."

Video transcript 0:57

Only because the Commander-in-Chief invited me, Mr. President, thank you for restoring the warrior ethos inside our formations, for rebuilding our military, re-establishing deterrence around the world, and making Americans proud to wear the uniform. That recruiting surge we're seeing right now is because they know they have a Commander-in-Chief that has their back. That's my message to these men and women every single place we go. All I ever wanted, when I was in combat, was to know that my Commander had my back, no matter what. And when Donald J. Trump, that Commander, has your back. And that means something to the men and women of America, and that's why we're seeing a record surge in recruiting. That's why we're locking down our southern border. That's why our enemies know we mean business, because we have a Commander-in-Chief that has our back, and he has the back of this base as well. God bless you all. Thank you. (audience applauds)

“In just 100 days, President Donald Trump has reignited a movement and reset the trajectory of the United States. He is a leader who is doing exactly what he promised on the campaign trail, and the early results are turning the country in the right direction at last. The contrast with the prior administration could not be sharper — and nowhere is that clearer than in immigration policy. During the same timeframe in 2024 under Joe Biden, more than 184,000 individuals who crossed the border illegally were released into the U.S. under the controversial ‘catch and release’ policy. This year, under Trump, that number has dropped to just nine. Not nine thousand — nine total.A stunning reduction of more than 99.99 percent…” https://washingtonreporter.news/p/op-ed-rep-ben-cline-trumps-first

VA Secretary Doug Collins: “The first 100 days of the second Trump Administration have been full of great news for America’s Veterans. Under POTUS’ leadership, we are putting Veterans first!”

Video transcript 1:53

We're 100 days into the second Trump administration, and our progress so far has been historic. The American people gave President Trump a mandate to shake up Washington, and that's exactly what he's doing. Here is the change we brought to the Department of Veterans Affairs in the first hundred days of the second Trump administration. We are refocusing our core mission, which is providing the best possible care and benefits to veterans, families, caregivers, and survivors. That means we're making sure veterans get the health care choices they were promised under the Mission Act. We're taking thousands of employees off of remote work and bringing them back into the office where we can work as a team to better serve veterans. We're phasing out treatment for gender dysphoria and directing all savings to helping paralyzed veterans and amputees. We're accelerating the deployment of our electronic health record system after the program was nearly dormant under the Biden administration. We are processing a record number of disability claims. We're redirecting hundreds of millions of dollars from our non-mission critical efforts to health care, benefits, and services that directly support VA beneficiaries. And we've ended DEI at the Department, reversing the divisive Biden era policies and stopping more than $14 million in DEI spending. Hey, but folks, we have so much more to do. The Biden administration was very good at spending money and hiring people, but not so good at solving tough problems. In fact, under President Biden, VA failed to address nearly all of the Department's most serious challenges, including benefits backlogs, rising health care wait times, and major difficulties with survivor benefits. We've got our work cut out for us, for sure, but this is exactly what I signed up for. We will reform the Department to make it work better for America's veterans, families, caregivers, and survivors – that I can promise you. And just like President Trump, we will keep fighting until the job is done.
